The first time that I ever bought a guitar without playing it first. I love the look.. the Black Pistol Fire demo was AMAZING !!! I play various shows and I stay very busy. This Epiphone sounds as great as it looks.. I get so many compliments. My only complaint- the tuning keys... made to look vintage ( I didnt care for the quality ) ... but when dealing with support ........they were very accomodating !!! I ended up putting some 18:1 Grovers on it , and seriously my Epiphone acoustic will stand with all of those other high dollar acoustics all day.... maybe even have a few of them sitting down !!!!!

This is a follow up to my initial post. I was going to return this initially but let it sit open air in my aquarium room a few days while I was waiting on my return authorization. I picked it up on a whim and strummed it a few times and it sounded better than when it arrived. I lowered the action a little and voila! All the first complaints went away! Okay I'm sorry zZounds for all the phone calls and thanks for your patience. I've decided to keep this after all !! I would recommend this guitar to all interested.. I would still like to get the Zenith eventually but will have to wait now. As always zZounds is awesome!

First, zZounds price is at least $100 less than Sweetwater so if you're shopping stop here. I did. Second, this is a classic looking, easy to handle, and wonderful sounding instrument. I consider myself a folk and vintage blues in a coffeehouse kind of guy and this has the right tone, especially amplified, for this kind of work. The construction is well done, no need to set up. You can keep the stock strings if you want because they're quality. It's light and fits easy on the shoulder. It bubbles over with "cool" and lets you stand out on stage. It's quiet enough to practice without bothering the people around you and when you plug it in it sounds even better. I also bought the custom case that zZounds sells because it's sturdy, good looking, and they're great together. Anyone can put a hole in the middle of a guitar, but if you're looking for something vintage, classy, and well built this might be a good choice.

This is actually not a bad guitar for the price but with that said it did have a couple issues! I got my first one about 2 weeks ago and while it was set up good I found multiple finish blems on neck and also the bridge adjustment wheel looked like someone turned it with pliers and stripped the outer portion flat. The main problem I had was the electronics or rather lack of. Nothing but buzzing. I even took it to a local guitar shop to see if it was something else like a cable or amp. zZounds handled this very nicely and I received a replacement a few days ago. Overall a nice guitar with a setup would be better action a little high and rattles on low strings. One minor poly or clear coat blob in upper f-hole but otherwise okay. Soundwise it was good thru an amp but for my finger playing style was underwhelmed without an amp. This was to be my porch player and for the most part great reviews and videos but I couldn't marry myself to it.. I just called zZounds for return and waiting to process. I am probably going to upgrade to the higher end Zenith model with a full hole and larger lower bout for more sound projection. The smaller f- holes just don't allow me enough sound.
