I just got this New 2020 Epiphone Riviera, in Sparkling Burgundy last week and it's a really Great guitar , I have several of the new 2020 Epiphones and this one by far is my favorite. First off the neck plays great just the right profile a comfortable C shape, and this ones Frets are spot on, no high Frets or sprouting , and the fretboard really looks Great like Rosewood , action on mine is perfect 5/64" at the 12th Fret low E, they have the same Pro Mini Humbuckers that the Crestwood Customs have and they sound really good on this semi hollow , got that Jangle to them , the finish is pretty perfect I love the Sparkling Burgundy its different from all those burst finishes and I like to be different lol, there was a little bit of dirt or wood dust in the paint in one f hole but it's really hard to see, the tuners are pretty solid too , although it's not stated on zZounds or Epiphones website the Gear ratio, I'm sure they are 18:1 , they hold tune very well, whoever scraped the binding on this one should be teaching everyone else at the Epiphone factory how to do it right , there is zero paint on any of the binding , pretty perfect, this guitar looks ,feels and sounds Great , and zZounds has always treated me right over the last 12 years , Great customer service and I love the ALL ACCESS PASS I have with 12 pay plans, do yourself a favor and check out the New Epiphone Riviera , at zZounds, a very Cool Guitar from a very cool dealer.

the only thing i did was lower the action and loosen rod just a little...i have the red one, no prob with fretwork/finish but may replace bridge at some point. aside from that, it doesn't need to be anything else but what it is.

I bought the Epiphone Riviera from zz on January 12, .2021. I was going to use it in a recording session. However, The tuner for the G string keeps slipping and is hard to turn. I requested a new running machine immediately and it is now a 6 weeks later and still have not received it. I have also bought to other epiphanies from other dealers. The uptown Kat and Les Paul special TV yellow. The Kat arrived with the pick up switch working in only two positions. The TV is there only one that works right. No more Epiphone's for me. At the price point they sell these at they should be working right. There are much better guitars out there for this kind of money.

I am 70 years old and have been playing professionally for 58 years just so you know who is reviewing this guitar. I have music on the radio and I have also been a recording engineer for 30 years and working on guitars since 1970. Now for the Truth: ZZ service was very good. Guitar arrived in timely fashion and was packaged well. I have been wanting one of these for years and finally bought the Burgundy one. The guitar neck had jagged fret ends or sprouts and were not leveled. The string action was 3/8 inch above the neck at the twelfth fret. The intonation was not even close. I realize this came from over seas. However, To say the least, if you do not know how to work on guitars I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND that you buy this guitar. I also purchased The sound was great but it has a pole piece in the neck pick up that wiggles back and forth. The finish had a slight bit of paint over run on the binding and the G tuner is very tight and not on par with the others. At this price point I have to say it is just a cut above a Firefly guitar. I am very disappointed in the finish work of this guitar. The Uptown Kat is flawless compared to this guitar. So if you are undecided go for the Kat. Good Luck to all and Keep on rocking in the free world.
