I don't know why I bought this. A lot about this guitar design bothered me. A les Paul with 2 single coil pickups for less than 200 should be awful. Does it sound like a Les Paul. Most definitely not. It's kind of unique sounding. It's extremely lightweight. It's not completely hideous, though I am sure Les Paul purists will hate the design.
Sound
I find the pickups to be kind of thin-sounding. That's not to say you can't get good tones out of it. I actually played it for a few songs, playing death metal and I thought it chugged quite nicely. The clean tones, for me, lack character.
Features
It's hard to get in the weeds over things like components quality on a bargain guitar. Everything works as it should. The neck is very playable. It actually reminds me of an SG neck a little bit. Wide and flat.
Ease of Use
It's a good first guitar but I would say you might be better off with a squire. It's very playable and takes effects well.
Quality
It doesn't have a protective gloss or anything. It's just a painted guitar body. I could see the paint getting chipped away and it looking worn down a little faster. I've had this guy for a year now and it still looks ok.
Value
If you want a cheap guitar that's kind of weird, this definitely fits the bill.
