Just received my JJN Gold Glory Led Paul. It is beautiful. Double gold is a nice matte/satin finish with no quality issues. Double binding is perfect and the ebony fretboard looks great. As far as performance it sounds awesome. Running it thru a Fender amp I get great clean sounds. When I step on a Friedman BE overdrive it just roars but will clean up nicely when rolling off volume. Grover tuners are smooth and stable as well.

Ordered Tuesday night, arrived mid Thursday. Packing was good and no damage to guitar. The finish is matte and more of a Vegas Gold instead of a more yellow-gold as some epiphones can be. P 90 sounds good as we all know but I will probably install cream plastics as CaseyOverdriven did since the black doesn't fit this gold top. Tailpiece feels stable, no problems with frets so far.

Ok so full disclosure, I ordered a JJN Gold Glory little more than a week ago and knew within 15 minutes of unboxing it that I had to return it. Yeah what a bummer! I've been a customer with zZounds for a few years now and have bought a few guitars and other gear but this is the first return I've ever had to do. I was a little nervous about getting a replacement sent to me. But overall the return process was very simple and hassle free. And I got the replacement guitar in about a week! Great customer care like this is what will make me stay a customer! Thank you zZounds! Now the replacement JJN Gold Glory guitar that came in is a keeper! Beautiful double gold finish is wonderful and I like the satin feel to it. It's not glossy or sticky and just looks wonderful! Right out of the box it intonates well after it was tuned to pitch and feels smooth to play. Though I'll probably lower the action just a bit when I change to a thicker set of strings. I really like the feel of the fretboard! The neck has some girth to it! I usually like thinner necks but this neck feels just right! It is also balanced well with my straps with no neck diving! The P90 sounds great through all of my rigs and cleans right up as you roll the volume off. The CTS Pots, both volume and tone, roll smoothly as you'd expect. The finish overall is great with just one minor issue on the headstock, but other than that near perfect! And did I say the double gold is just beautiful?! Overall I am very satisfied with the guitar. It sounds good, plays wonderfully and is just gorgeous! I've already ordered a cream P90 cover and contoured jackplate with some gold "top hat" knobs for it. And kudos to zZounds for making what could have been a bad experience a reason to feel assured that zZounds actually is committed to making sure even us broke musicians are satisfied!

Aesthetically it is one of the most eye pleasing guitars I have had the privilege to put my eyeballs on. Everything looks amazing… except the blues power truss rod cover and the signature on the back of the headstock. It isn’t ugly, its just my preference. The best thing about this guitar is the ergonomics. My palm fits perfect on the stop bar and with a slight push forward I can control how much palm mute I want. I do this on all my guitars but this one just feels like a reclining lazy boy for my hand. Also my pinky rests perfectly on the bottom, square part of the P90 pick up letting me get stability and a solid reference point. The single pickup makes room for pulling strings and using a pick it is nice to climb the neck to get that deep dreamy sound without hitting a neck pickup. The finish feels sticky when touched but when playing it feels slick. The SD P90 pickup is nostalgic and distinguished. It has a deep growl with some twang. I actually like the minimal controls. Sometimes dialing in a tone takes more time than actually playing. This guitar is a blues rock machine and the P90 is really touch sensitive to fingerpicking electric guitar. I thought the neck profile would be too fat but it is very comfortable. A bit hard for me to pinky the E string cleanly but I do have very average hand/finger length so it takes an extra pound or two of pressure and a slight twist in the wrist. It is not a fast neck but it is comfortable and I don’t feel like I have to death grip it like I do sometimes with a thinner neck. Out of the box it was set up pretty well. The innotation was off by only 10-20 cents with no adjustments so I would say that’s pretty good. There was a slight… like very faint buzz every now and then but I think it just needs a pro set up or fine tuning. I will do that later but for now I just wanted to play it out of the box. Here is the bad… I can feel where the paint starts and stops. Like horribly. It is like they used masking tape and spray painted the sh-t out of it and then just pulled the tape off leaving a square edge. There is no deep clear coat on the guitar. It’s just paint and then binding. Another thing is that on the sides of the fret board it is sharp and rough. There is binding, fretboard wood, neck wood, inlays, dots, fret edges… it is like there is too much stuff in one small area and it feels wonky and uneven. I believe this is the major difference between mass produced guitars and a hand made Gibson. I have Gibsons and Custom shop Fenders and honestly that attention to detail is the only major difference I notice between these guitars. Over all this is an amazing guitar that is unique and definitely a player. I am very satisfied. It looks a million times better than it is crafted but it plays somewhere in between. The real attraction for me is the ergonomics for handpicking electric guitar and the beauty of it.
