The idea is certainly intriguing and visually it's a damn good looking guitar. Its plays like most of the other Epi Les Pauls do, so if you are a fan of the neck, you're sure to like these as well. Tonally its mostly a Les Paul. There are hints of 335/semi hollow tones that do come through on the initial attack, but it has the sustain you would expect. The probuckers sound good and I can see most purchases and players being very happy with them. Out of the box action was great. I have no problems with feedback and the weight (right around 5.5lbs on mine) is awesome to have strapped on for long jam sessions. Color is awesome on the iced tea burst. Fit and finish was GOOD, but not perfect. I considered sending mine back for some slight blems in the finish, but ultimately decided I like the tones and the neck I have in my hands and kept it. I would say if you're intrigued to go for it. A few side notes that people have asked: Construction: It is not built like a traditional semi hollow. These are completely chambered with f holes. Strings: I can't say enough how much heavier strings brought this to life. It was the same as with my 335 and 339. I have 12-56 on mine and it added a lot of definition and pop both unplugged and through the amp. Hardware: Its good. Grover tuners and lock tone bridge and tailpiece. No issues with the equipped hardware. I did swap both, but I also have personal preference for all my keepers. Pickups: Probuckers are great pups and most of my friends and students that have them really like them. The split coil is a nice option offered. You may want to spend some time with yours tweaking the heights and the pole pieces to get the most of of them. They are really good pups. I did swap mine, again for personal preference. I have the same set of DiMarzios in all of my set neck mahogany body guitars.

I had been checking this guitar out for quite some time, never really sure if I wanted to pull the trigger or not. I have to say that I am very glad I did. First off, it was on sale when I purchased it, but even at full price it would have been well worth the money. Guitar arrived in great shape (as all my prior purchases from zZounds have). The guitar itself is beautiful, the iced tea burst, is something that needs to be seen in person to really appreciate. Build quality on it is very very good. The neck joint is solid, hardware was solid, frets were level and well polished even the nut was cut properly. The setup was good right out of the box, on a semi-hollow I always use heavier strings, so I needed to re-set it for that purpose only, otherwise it was great. The tuners are rock solid and I have had no problems with tuning stability whatsoever. This is one of the lightest Les Pauls that I have ever played. You can play it all night long without breaking your back and you don't loose any of the punch or sustain. If anything you gain a nice airy tone to your cleans. The electronics are also good quality. The pots (push/pull coil taps on the volumes), caps, switch and jack are perfectly fine for what they are. One nifty feature on this guitar is that it all of the components are "quick connect" no soldering which is nice if you are looking to upgrade and either are not skilled in soldering or you just don't feel like messing with it. The pickups are surprisingly good as well. It uses Epiphone's Pro-Buckers which I have to say A-B'd against my Gibson 57 Classics are a very very close match actually. Clean they are nice and smooth with just enough ooomph to push your amp or with some over drive or distortion are snarly but articulate. am always surprised at the quality of the guitars that Epiphone have been producing lately. To note my guitar was made in Indonesia (not sure if they all are or not but the quality is top notch). If you are looking for an inexpensive Les Paul that is light and completely gigable, then definitely check this one out. As always I am a proud supporter of zZounds and their Play as you Pay program. I have purchased lots of great gear at great prices and never been disappointed, by their fantastic service. Thank you zZounds for being a "working musician/man" friendly.

At First I Thought the body would not be Big enough to produce a full enough hollow body tone however I was wrong Evan not plugged In you can hear the distinct bell tone very nice ,The finish on the guitar is just stunning the Icetea burst special indeed And the mahogany on the back just as nice I thought I found this guitar is worth $50 Dollars more than the other Florintens and other touches like the neck inlay I stand corrected. Its not exactly like the other similar units and worth the extra money.setup A little high out of the box but Evan I was able to lower it and mAke it much better , I played a Gibson hollow body same model and this one is actually better playing Looking and acting I am very happy .needless to say I decided to keep it and I am Recommending it to anyone who wants a small light a arch top I also ordered an Ultra 339 so I can plug right in without I rig cables iPad ect

I've played an acoustic for 40+ years, and finally decided to try an electric. I happened upon the Epiphone Les Paul Florentine and knew I had to have it! I was nervous about buying online, sight-unseen, but a close friend had recently purchased an EXPENSIVE guitar from zZounds, and he assured me they would treat me right. I'm happy to say they did. The guitar arrived in a double box for extra protection, and there was no damage. I got the free shipping, ordered it on a Friday, and had it the following Wednesday. I was able to track the shipping progress along the way. The guitar was just as picured/described. It was set up reasonably well, as far as I can tell, with the exception of a slight buzz on the A string (an easy fix). It plays great (well, in the right hands, it does), and has lots of knows to play around with to find the right sound. I bought an inexpensive multi-effects pedal (Digitech Element XP) for practicing, but am amazed at all the subtle differences in sound, just from the guitar controls. I'm enjoying my new baby! I do recommend zZounds! The pay as you play deal can't be beat!

I ordered (and received... that review is elsewhere) a beautiful Epiphone Les Paul, and ordered this case for it. Received as promised, with free shipping. It was well packaged (although, I wondered why they shipped the guitar and case separately) with no shipping damage. However, one of the latches was broken. I contacted ZZounds about this and they immediately began working to resolve the problem. They sent me a prepaid address label to ship the case back and, once it was in transit, the shipped me a replacement. It was relatively painless and they proved ed excellent servic3. They even responded to my questions along the way, quickly and courteously. I recommend zZounds. I also recommend keeping the shipping boxes a few days, just in case there's a problem. It made things a lot easier.
Sound
No sound or wow factor... it's just a case. But again, very impressed with the service.
