"Premium Epiphone Les Paul"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

The new Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy ushers in the new age of premium Epiphone Les Paul guitars. Premium features include Grover locking tuners, green triangle inserts on the fret markers, and nice binding on the front of the guitar. And let's not forget the Fishman Fluence active humbuckers w/ a variety of push pull pots that give you a variety of different tones. Gone are the old days where you had to replace the pickups on your new Epiphone. These Fishman Fluence humbuckers are keepers. These humbuckers can go from sweet sounding to real rock and metal monsters with the right distortion pedal(s). They can get mean and nasty. The band will definitely not drown you out. The Prophecy will let everyone know who's in charge of the tone. Turn the volume up and the neighbors will be banging on the door! The looks of the guitar are somewhat subdued and not the usual glossy shiny finish on let's say an Epiphone Custom. The tone is what separates them apart from run of the mill Epiphones. These guitars are top notch instruments and represent a good value at still affordable prices. Add the zZounds installment pay plan and you have a winning combination.

"Great guitar after the set up!"

This is a great high end Epi, but.. It arrived in in terrible condition. The guitar arrived with a terrible set up, The neck had a bad bow to it and it buzzed and had flat notes everywhere. The QC before shipping is not there. I had to get it set up by a luthier and it was a bit of a mess according to him. Post setup it is a beast. The Fishman pups are amazing, they give you a huge range of tonal possibilities. I love it, I play hard rock, blues, R & B semi professionally for the past 40 years. I didn't like Gibson Les Pauls because of the weight, and price. Now I am completely satisfied with the Epi LP. This thing has jumbo frets, Grover tuners, 24 frets. It is moving up to my number one with a bullet. You have to understand this is an import and is shipped from overseas and so it has endured temperature variations, shipping issues, etc. Get it setup professionally and you will love it.

Wow, what an awesome Les Paul.Great tones possibilities. I've seen videos of Metal players. I play blues with mine through a Fender Tonemaster amp, and it works great. I highly recommend this instrument.I give it a 10 out of 10 for looks, tone, and play ability.I have been a zZounds customer for quite some time. No problems no hassle.

Buy this guitar!!! If you are seeking all all-in-one axe, look no further. Epiphone has upped the game tremendously with the Prophecy series!! I own two other Epiphones, an SG and another LP and THIS on is my new favorite!! The sounds, the tones, the selectable voicings, ooooohhh man!!! I ordered it back in March but had to wait due to back orders, but I just got it yesterday and oiled the fretboard, changed out the strings to some beefy 11-54's looking for the chug. I think Ola would be proud!! This guitar is so sweet! I look forward to playing it for years to come! Don't wait! It is well worth the price!

"O my Gosh!! It will not disappoint!"

I had been wanting a new Les Paul for a long time. I have played the Les Paul special 2 for many years. You couldn't get it out of my hands. As it got older I started looking for a new electric guitar that gave me the same feel with a modern tone, as I play mainly heavy metal. I stumbled across the Les Paul Prophecy. I have to stay this guitar sounds amazing. Whether you need her to scream while playing solos or, trucking along with chucky metal riffs. This guitar will not disappoint. It is a very smooth guitar to play. The tone is amazing!!

I have been playing for almost 20 years and, this is by far the best Les Paul that I have ever played! The playability is awesome! when you make a mistake she will make up for it! Her tone is awesome. I mainly play metal but love to play 80s rock and little blues. It did take some time to set up but she once dialed in she sang to you !! This is a great guitar!! you wont be disappointed!!

"Disappointing Quality Control"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

I was so very excited for this guitar, but now I just feel disillusioned.I have had two different guitars shipped to me. Both were shipped with terrible fretwork. Both have had severe fret sprout and sharp fret ends. The second had tooling marks on the fretboard and a portion of the white binding had been hit with red overspray. Both setups were atrocious and unplayable out of box. Not how a brand new high-end guitar should arrive. I don't want to go through the hassle of trying a third one. I've had wonderful experiences with Epiphone and zZounds in the past and zZounds has been great so far with the return process, and I've had perfectly flawless Epiphones shipped to me before, but this still has been very disappointing. The products need to be checked before being shipped to the customer. It's harder to recommend either after this experience.

"Terrible guitar!"

Overall: 1 out of 5 stars

Well, this is the worst quality guitar I have ever seen in a while, actually I have been playing since 1977 and about 28 guitars have come and gone and this is the worst, is really unplayable! The nut is cut to high (I mean really high), the intonation is way off, the action is too high, fret buzz even with the action so high, the bridge makes noises when playing. $200 guitars play better than this guitar these days. I got it because of the great reviews on YouTube, but I am really disappointed. I have an Epiphone Les Paul custom and that one is not so bad.
