When I ordered this guitar I wasn't too sure about it. I have a 61 Epiphone sg and I love it. But this one had p90s. I like those pickups but just wasn't sure if this would be even close to my 61. This thing, the monkey, blew away every guitar I've ever owned or played! I lowered the action and tuned it up and this this plays like cutting through melted butter! So smooth and sounds fantastic!!! It's only going through my fender blues junior and not my fender hot rod deluxe because the guitar is just so nasty sounding with distortion that you've got to play it loud but not to where your windows shatter! Beat guitar I've ever owned!!!! If they allowed me I'd give it an easy 10 stars!

This SG is the second one I got. The first arrived with the upper horn almost completely broke off. Not to worry, zZounds facilitated the return. Out of the box on the second one, it was the best set up and highest quality guitar I’ve had from Epiphone to date.The frets were all level sans one, which just took a couple of taps with a rubber hammer to right. There was no pokey fret ends. The screws and nuts were all snug. No rattles, and the electronics were all clean and without static.The neck is the best profile I’ve ever experienced on an SG, even my Gibsons. It is hand filling, but not too fat.The nut’s slots were cut correctly, with all first fret notes playing in perfect tune. The action and intonation were great right out of the box.The case was really nice, and at just $799.00, this guitar packs a lot OB value for the price.

I ordered this guitar & 14 hours later I was playing it !!! It arrived in perfect shape & with minor tuning I was hooking it up to my amplifier minutes after taking it out of the box.. Now I'm seeing more guitars in the near future... Thank you zZounds

right out of the box this thing felt amazing , i have another epiphone SG but man this one just sounds so crispy i have yet to try it in standard tuning i immediately put it in C# standard but man it feels great.
