"The real deal"

Great axe, excellent tribute guitar. Plays just like a 58, yes I’ve played both and, surprisingly accurate. Better than the 70’s Gibson V’s.

This is my 2nd Epiphone flying V guitar and I am happy to say "What a deal Great flying V guitar with upgraded pups and a nice fretboard .This guitar rocks It came ready to play right out of the box
Sound
The sound quality of this guitar is more like a clean sound not like the Karina model first bucker is a probucker 2 and the other is a pro bucker 3 sounds pretty good
Features
The olive job finish on these guitars is nice I think it will last quite a while the hardware seems Chrome plated and a quality the CTS spots are working and I'm happy with this situation
Ease of Use
This guitar sounds clean when it's shut down low but as you turn it up it begins to get wild and once you're on 10 these pro buckets come alive the neck should be boiled with marine oil do not use lemon oil on this Indian Laurel
Quality
This is a great quality product it feels as good as the Gibson it's unbelievable for the labor price over in China they're creating guitars every bit as good as the Gibson I've only Gibson's and I've owned this Apple phone this is my second one I believe they're really a great value
Value
This Olive job Epiphone flying he is it worth every penny I was lucky enough to pay $599 for mine but they have gone up in there worth it believe me a great guitar for the price
Manufacturer Support
Epiphone by Gibson is easy to reach you can go online and find out anything you want to know plus AMS help me out and in the future I'll buy more guitars from them Epiphone has surely upgraded their project
The Wow Factor
As we all know flying views are very popular now that Epiphone is making them more often we have more to choose from and I think that they'll be around a lot longer long lives of flying V guitar

As someone who’s played guitar for over 20 years. Also a guitar technician and has a gold record under my belt. I’m always and still on the search for great budget guitars. Most the time I find myself returning cheaper guitars because the amount of work I’d have to put into it to play well just isn’t worth it. This one was a different story. I am so impressed with this one. The neck feels great, rounded edges for that broken in feel. Frets are fine. I just need to spot level a feet or two. Stays in tune perfect. I was able to intonate the guitar perfectly. It’s very resonant. Pickups sound find to get you playing until you decide to swap them out. I may have got lucky but, It really is a great guitar.

I absolutely love this guitar! Fit and Finish are impeccable. Tuning machines work smoothly and they hold everything in Tune. I can’t stop staring at this beauty. Pickups are Great. It’s not necessary to change the pickups. I still changed them out for Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates. Under the hood I found great electronics. Epiphone uses the plug in connection for its pickups. Sweet! I was able to swap the pickups with no modifications to the guitar. In this color and build quality it’s destined to become collectible. The fret sprout needed attention. I quickly took care of it. At 71 years old I feel like a kid again. I play it sitting down as well.

"Great guitar (after a setup)"

I couldn’t be happier with the staff at zZounds. Fast shipping, easy returns, I have nothing but good things to say about the folks at zZounds. Epiphone though? Their QC leaves a LOT to be desired. My first V arrived with the bridge mounted a full inch above the body on a bent post that was impossible to correct. I returned the guitar and received another one with exactly the same problem - but at least the post was straight on this one so it could be corrected with a setup. Epiphone isn’t finishing the job at the factory. Sharp frets, action a mile above the fretboard, both of the guitars I received were absolutely unplayable out of the box.Post-setup it’s a good guitar, but be warned: you absolutely will need a good setup so budget for it when you consider this guitar.

"Great Feel needs pickups upgraded."

1st the good - I love the feel the neck is great it has the classic style bridge easy to set and intonate (I have mine in C#) so the setup was just a few screws turned . The Olive Drab looks sick with the black pick guard a bronze set of hardware would have looked more metal but the chrome is clean.2nd Now the bad I had have my friend and Okc luthier cut the nut down a bit for the bigger strings to work which isn't too bad but the pickups are low output and very microphonic so I think the tone is great unplugged but until I get better pickups in it I won't know what it really sounds like. It was feeding back severely through my Mesa Boogie Rec.

First off, the olive drab finish looks great. Unfortunately, everything else is pretty sub-par. If you're buying it new, expect to have to purchase or perform a set-up. The stock 10's are pretty rough and the fretboard had several dead and buzzy areas out of the box. The parts and components seem cheap and the guitar has that "toy" feel to it. The volume/tone knobs are apt to come loose, as well. The pickups are muddy and seem to articulate less the higher you go up the fretboard. It's not the worst guitar I've played, but it's hardly worth the price of admission. I think 499.99 would be a more reasonable price tag for this. I'm frankly pretty disappointed. If you're looking at a V in this price range/color, I'd definitely suggest looking into the Army Drabb Jackson JS32 instead (which runs at $399). I've found it to be a much better quality product.
