i have only good things to say about this guitar . . 24 hour shipping , factory sealed Epiphone box within a shipping box, guitar came practically set-up to me in like 25 degree weather . .still playing the factory strings . .couldnt find a flaw , outstanding and very well made guitar .comfortable neck , super sweet neck tones , screaming soul laden lead tones . .relief at .010 , and string height on low side 6/64 high side 4/64 . . so really in the ballpark for factory spec . . very minor adjustments and this guitar plays close to, if not as good as my gibsons . . no doubt . . .get one while they are still at this price . . lol

My dream guitar has always been a Gibson 335 or 339. Hard to find either under 2,500 dollars. These are 1/4 of the price… they are much more than worth it. I don’t know how Gibson can seriously justify the massive price difference anymore. Anyway I ordered the 335 Inspired by Gibson. It’s flawless, sounds great and well worth the price.

Ok this is my third review.Purchased 2 previous to this and both had issues.First one the input jack fell into the guitar when plugged in second one the tone control on the neck pickup didn’t work. zZounds was great about returns with no questions asked. The first 2 played great just electronic issues.Third one came and again played great and this time with no issues except that the Volume cap fell off which is an easy fix.Great playing and sounding guitar.Love the thicker neck and pickups sound great and it stays in tune.No buzzing and action is not super low which is how I like it.You will not find a better value out there for the money.Great sounding and playing guitar even with the QC issues.

Gone are the days of buying an Epiphone for the bones and upgrading everything.Out of the box, the bass side action was pretty high. 3 turns of a screw driver and a retune and it's perfection.Sweet, sustaining tones. The neck pickup is thick and rich, the bridge pickup bites with nice midrange.I have the Iced Tea finish and it is flawless. It's pretty loud, acoustically as well. The fingerboard is a nice, even, dark chocolatey color. There are no sharp frets, and the frets themselves are smooth and there's no grittiness when you bend a string. The tuners feel like quality.the right amount of resistance when you turn the key,.very smooth tuning. This guitar holds tune amazingly well. The nut is cut very, very well. I just spent an hour bending the hell out of notes and it's still perfectly in tune.Even the strings that come with It are decent. If this was my only guitar (it's not, I own over 20 lol), I would be happy. If you've got less than $600 to spend and you want a high quality guitar, this is the one. Now, can it be made better with some upgrades?Maybe. We shall see. It's very easy to swap out the tailpiece for a lightweight aluminum one, the studs for locking steel studs, and the inserts for steel inserts. You can even find brass saddles that fit this bridge perfectly if you know where to look, as well as steel thumbwheel posts. Throw on some locking tuners while you've got it apart, and Bob's yer auntie. This one is a keeper. And with a 12 month payment plan? I'd only have to sell plasma twice a month to pay for it!

This 335 is perfect. Feels and sounds wonderful, plays with ease, feels and looks like a much more expensive guitar. You can't go wrong with this one, I'm amazed and love it.

Took delivery of a new Iced Tea Epiphone 335, inspired by Gibson today. Quality fit and finish. Intonation spot on. Only had to lower action to my preference on the Bass side. Absolutely buzz free. I have 2 Gibson 335s, and this instrument is not far off the mark of their standards. Very pleased I added this to my guitarsenal. Would recommend to a Friend.

"Epi 335 Dot 5 Star Guitar"

Gone are the days where you buy an Epiphone and have to replace parts and pay for major work just so you can play it. My new Epiphone 335 Dot (in zZounds exclusive Iced Tea finish) was perfectly playable out of the box. The action was 4/64th on the treble side and 5/64th on the low E side. Frets were perfectly leveled, and weren’t gritty at all. Very smooth. The nut was perfectly cut. I really almost can’t believe it. The guitar came set up. Fit and finish was stellar. No defects in the paint around the F holes. The only things I had to do to this guitar outside of tuning it up was to oil the fretboard with some F-1 oil, and tighten a few screws a bit. Really like the “Inspired by Gibson” Epiphone guitars. I’ve had two Les Pauls out of the line, and they were awesome as well. The pickups in these guitars are great sounding.

Love this guitar. Always wanted a 335-style guitar, but without getting too florid, and without breaking the bank. Plays as well as a Gibson as far as I'm concerned. Beautiful finish, wonderful tone. Exceptional value and one of my new favorite guitars.

Guitar came packaged perfectly.Double boxed and secure.Finish is very nice and playability is excellent. For some reason this finish was $100 cheaper so it’s quite a bargain at $499.I’ve had Grote and cort 335 copies at a cheaper price point but this guitar is in another league than those 2.The pickups sound really good and the pots and switch work perfectly. The guitar was set up well with a straight neck and no buzzing. There was a little bit of fret sprout but other than that this thing is awesome for the price. The headstock shape is much better than the old Epiphone. The nut was cut perfectly and it’s Nubone.Probably some kind of graphite. All in all I’m very happy I got this guitar and feel that Epiphone has really stepped it up!

"Nice guitar but QC issues"

So this is a second review .I bought one 2 weeks ago and the input jack fell into the guitar when I plugged it in. zZounds was great in the return process and the tone pot on the neck pickup on the replacement didn’t work.So I’m pretty much done with Epiphone. The input jack was also fussy on this one as well.Over all the guitar played and sounded good but QC was really bad!Theres no way these are CTS pots! zZounds was very apologetic and promptly issued a return label.Im going to but the Boos IR-2 instead.

"Fret work"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
It needs fretwork out of the box. Which is pretty unacceptable. I’m tempted to send it back and try again, but I think I’ll just get fretwork done, as I don’t expect a replacement to be much better really. Sounds good when it isn’t buzzing.
Sound
It sounds good, it just needs better attention to detail on the manufacturers part. It sounds good in the blues rock/early 70s metal setting that i play
Features
2 humbuckser. Pretty basic, but iconic.
Ease of Use
It would be easier if the frets were leveled correctly at the factory
Quality
Needs feet work
Value
Needs to be dropped down sub 300 with that fret work
The Wow Factor
Looks good. Needs work right out of the box

Paint bleed on body, sharpest frets on a Epiphone I've ever felt, and Bridge pickup intermittently works. With some better quality control it might have felt like a 200$ guitar.
