I've read myriad reviews of the G400 PRO that say this is one the best models Epiphone offers. I've owned approx.15 Epis and I have to agree with the others. It's a truly superlative guitar. The pickups are really nice sounding. Bright but not "clangy" and they sing when cranked though a distortion pedal. (The earlier Epi pups weren't impressive, or expressive.) The coil tap function isn't really too pronounced on the neck pup but has a nice effect on the bridge pup, especially in the "middle position".The neck is delightfully slim and VERY fast with nicely dressed frets. Due to the design, the upper frets are much more accessible than on a Les Paul. There is no real "neck dive". That's likely due to the plastic tuning keys; Grovers add a bit of weight. (I use a 3" wide suede strap which helps hold the body in place.)What really knocked me out was the finish. The photos I saw online do it no justice at all. This guitar is beautiful. BEAUTIFUL. In photos the color appears solid but it actually has a light metal flake sparkle to it.It should be noted that this guitar has cream colored binding on the neck. The specs state 'no binding'.As with many guitars I've purchased from zZounds, this one came from the "scratch and dent" column and carried a healthy 27% discount. The damage? It has two dings on the back. I thought it was "buckle rash" until I saw the two corresponding holes in the box. The poor fella had a rough ride some time in the past.Out of the box the intonation was perfect. The only "issue" with this guitar is a slight fret buzz on the B string at the 5th fret. I raised the bridge slightly and that has almost completely eliminated the problem.I would definitely recommend this guitar.School boy uniform not included. (Hi, Angus!)In my rating I had to deduct one star from the 'Quality' category due to the fret buzz.

Epiphone really hit this one out of the park. Great color. Rocking pickups and an excellent price. The only thing Epiphone skimped on was the tuners but they aren't bad considering the price.
