I never buy the cheaper imports if any brand, but this V was speced identical, except the nut material, to the USA model according to Dean website. It even appears to be real MOP inlays. The quality is outstanding, finish flawess. The matte neck is great and feels the perfect amount of chunky and wide. Playing through Marshall TSL and 1960a Vintage 4x12 cab, the tone is absurdly sweet, and aggressive. Setup was great for me, I immediately removed the Daddarios (which were corroded already) and strung it with Ernie Ball custom lites. This axe doesnt come with the only case itll fit in, a special flying V case, which is needed at additional $180. Plan for that $$. If youre wondering about Deans big weird headstock, but think its kinda cool/not sure, pull the trigger, its gigantic, obnoxious and great! Seems to balance it out perfectly. This looks, feels, and sounds like a $3500 rock guitar, because with USA stamped on the back it would be. IMO, certain USA guitar makers should be embarrased by this instruments quality.
