It was between this and the rane 56s, I got this one because I really wanted the S9 but can't afford it right now. At first I wasn't expecting much but man this mixer blew me away. It's built like a tank, nothing about it feels cheap or fragile. The faders are BUTTER, so damn smooth. The sound is above what I was expecting. It's not just a scratch mixer, it's suitable for general mixing, blending ect. I'll admit I had buyers remorse the second I placed the order because I wanted the Rane 56 over this mostly because it's reputable but to be honest for 450 bucks less this mixer pretty much goes toe to toe with the 56 and it even has a high/low pass filter. DJ tech and the fellas at thud rumble did amazing

"Hot Butter Faders"

Dedicated outs! Mini innoFaders like hot melted butter! If you have an audio interface, a multi-out FireWire one preferably, it has DVS send/return for being able to switch between control vinyl and the real thing at the flick of a switch. Artist sponsored equipment can be a bogus ploy, but the cats at ThudRumble are true to the game and don't upset. They don't just sponsor this, they designed it! During my first public uses of this mixer I felt great having so much control over the samples I was scratching & cueing. Plus the aux-in means I can patch in my beat-making setup to scratch over without too much rearrangement in the lab. The dvs send/return can also be used for effects! Mad outs, mad ins with old school analog simplicity. Cuts on cuts! The TRX plus a dope multi-out FireWire audio interface are still $1000-$1200 cheaper than a Rane mixer...

2 channel, Silky smooth mini-innofaders on the Cross and up faders. Great sound, plenty of outs! You basically have a strong throwback mixer in the digital era. Easy to connect to your phono or DVS system, with both the Rane SL series or the new Denon Serato box.. DJ Q-Bert did right putting his stamp of approval on this mixer!

OK so obviously having the 3 stock Innofaders is a bonus. Great input/output options. BUT...I believe the filter switches interfere with the faders as to create a nasty ringing sound when they are moved in a few millimeters from either side. I MAY have gotten a faulty unit, but am not willing to take another chance. Also there are no instructions in the paperwork it came with or ANYWHERE online on how to take the faceplate off so you can make adjustments to the Innofaders. Just going to bite the bullet and purchase the Rane 56s. Note: DJ-Tech customer support is horrible! Definitely a sign of things to come. Company clearly doesn't take pride in their products.
