"Awesome Overdrive Pedal!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I've owned the DigiTech Tone Driver Overdrive Pedal since early 2006, and it rocks! This little stompbox provides some sweet overdrive tones! Use this with the DigiTech MultiChorus for a bit of dirty distortion, or combine with the MXR Blue Box for some hard-core rock sounds! These pedals are built like tanks, using metal construction; and produce high-quality, digital sound. Their metallic paint makes them look really cool, too! DigiTech X-Series pedals provide you with the most bang for your buck, and I highly recommend them! Make sure to grab a DigiTech AC power supply so you can save money on batteries!

"Good Overdrive for the Price."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

I like having this pedal as part of my "arsenal". Will i ever buy another pedal? Probably.
Sound
Good range of full-bodied OD tones. The "Morph" knob is a type of contour dial .... very nice! That is the selling point with this pedal. It's very sensitive to movement. In any Morph position, you can bring the "Gain" down and the "Level" up to produce a nice smooth boosted tone that maintains your guitar's character. (I definitely want my Strat to sound like a Strat when i'm playing blues or crunchy country/rock ... this pedal allows me to accomplish this.)
Features
For what this pedal is intended to be (i assume), the features are complete. The two output jacks are nice too. You can use either one to feed your amp, depending on the signal strength you desire.
Ease of Use
Typical stompbox ease-of-use. No surprises, just fun.
Quality
Good out of the box - heavy & solid. Hasn't broken yet :-)
Value
$69.00 is good, compared with similar stomp's in this category. It's not in the "boutique" category, ala "Fulltone", "Bonetone", Mesa, etc. Digitech's own "Bad Monkey" out-does it price-wise, but the Bad Monkey doesn't have the tonal range employed here.
Manufacturer Support
No opinion. (Hope i never have to form one either.)
The Wow Factor
I own it. (Did i "want" it?? I guess...)

"The best overdrive ever!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
If you just want one overdrive, you could purchase any other pedal. If you want a more original tone or perhaps a more flexible sound, this pedal is it.
Sound
I can get everything from a subtle crunch to a lo-fi distortion characteristic of the Deftones. Use this pedal as a mid boost to your lead distortion and it will enhance articulation during palm muting and also cut you through the mix.
Features
That morph knob is the selling point and is where the flexibility is at. Your actually getting 10 pedals for the price of one and they all sound great. I chose this pedal over the legendary tubescreamer becuase this pedal sounded better, and gave me more than just one overdrive.
Quality
It feels heavy and is made out of metal. That's already more durable then half the pedals I've owned. (Notice the past-tense)
Value
For the price and these features, you can't beat it.
Manufacturer Support
never dealt so I'll just give em a 10 cuz everything else rocks.
The Wow Factor
Small and compact. I don't know about the yellow paint though?
