"Best Damm Lil' guitar Processor Today!"
I've had this for 6 years now,and it ain't going nowhere!
Sound
I cannot believe how many great tones I can get out of this little unit.I have used this in a live setting many of times and have had no problems with it at all.One of my favorites on here is the acoustic tone, along with the talk box effect that I can get.Simply put, this pedal rocks!
Features
Mine came with a power adaptor, which is great because you sdon't have to get and get batteries, thus saving you some cash, because this thing eats up batteries very quickly I might add.I use every feature on here except for the drum machine, which to me,isn't that good.
Ease of Use
It's very easy to use.I bought mine brand new in 2002,and it only took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to set it up and program it.This pedal will make any type of amp sound great,no matter what it is.
Quality
As we all know, this un it has a plastic casing, whereas the other RP models have metal casings.I have read a lot of reviews where people were saying that the casing breaks very easily.Well guess what? If you don't stomp on it and take care of it,it'll last you a long time.Like I mentioned earlier,I've had mine since 2002,and not once had I had to worry about breaking the casing, because I baby my gear, and money doesn't grow on trees.
Value
I originally paid $59.99 for mine, and now I see that they're going for $49.99.For the buck, this is the best effects processor out there, bar none.I would definately buy another one if I had to.I couldn't see myself without it.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to contact them.
The Wow Factor
Nothing spectacular about the look of this pedal. The only thing that's appealing is the fact that for the price, you can get a ton of effects and save some serious money on having to buy pedals.

Pint Sized Stomper. I use it with a volume pedal and an Eq. Using an extra Compressor and distotion box on your favorite clean channels works good also to eliminate live mistakes and to really tweek in the Tone Action. Keep it Simple Stupid!!
Sound
Great Sounds Go to Digitech.com and join RP-50 Webboard and there is an Entire Patch Library made up by RP-50 Guru's that is Totally Awesome. These guys have done the work for the rest of us. Go get the Patch Library. Most Excellent
Features
Comes with power adapter. Batteries last along time.
I got a Yamaha FC-7 volume pedal of course from Zzounds.com to go with this and it works great.
Ease of Use
Easy to operate. Takes some patience to load patches but you can load up a list of the Top forty of your choice from Patch library in a couple of hours for all 40. Great Tone Action.
Quality
Plastic But tough. Just don't throw it or jump on it. It's a fine piece of gear. Treat it with some respect.
Value

"great little toy"
i love it and i am keeping it to go with one amp, but im getting the rp255 for my main amp in a few days
Sound
this pedal sounds great. not much to say other than that its just great. ive had it through alot of amps without any issues, and its usually hooked up to my little peavey or my fender bass amp for the killer wah effects
Features
its got everything i could want, except the wah/volume pedal. which is why im upgrading to the rp255 in a few days.
Ease of Use
its simple to use, although if you start editing effects and dont know what youre doing, youll probably make a mess.
Quality
well ive had this since it was brand new, whenever that was i cant remember. looks like '02 from what a few others here are saying. so thats 9 years absolutely no problems
Value
i got it for $120, took me foreer to save up for it back when i was like 6, but it was worth it
Manufacturer Support
never needed support
The Wow Factor
i couldnt care less about the looks, but it does look fairly attractive

"AMAZING PRODUCT! Woohoo"
I have spent a great deal of time with this and I am satisfied! Go buy it now! OR ELSE
Sound
Well, I can pretty much get all of the different sounds I want. I use the default effect 29 without the echo or whatever it had on it.
Features
I use a lot of features from this but I still don't know how to use everything on it. I had to go buy an adapter because this thing makes me waste my money on batteries. Uses 6, they last about half of a week until it goes all static-y and I have to run over to the amp before the static gets too loud. Ouch
Ease of Use
Well, because the screen can only fit 2 characters on it, it gets a little tricky to use and I usually have to open up the manual to find out what the abbreviations mean, but it's worth it.
Quality
Wouldn't work too great if I dropped it.
Value
I would pay more than the original price for this (I forgot what it was exactly, but that's what I was thinking when I saw the price).
Manufacturer Support
No service required for me.
The Wow Factor
Sex appeal? (Ohhh... shiny...) What does that have to do with a pedal? Well, knowing the features, it was something I wanted to buy.

it's great. the one thing i don't quite like is that it makes it hard to get feedback. which for me is a bad thing but not a big deal. you might like that better.
Sound
the sound is great. it's quite advanced.
Features
the features are absolutely amazing for the price. B-stock for 40 bucks?! you get like 11 amp models with full gain conrol with a bunch of other effects. Don't forget a tuner.
Ease of Use
they give you like 70 presets which is hwat i used before i knew how to actually tweak it to get my own sound. when I did decide to learn i found that it wasn't hard at all.
Quality
it is made out of plastic but just don't be too ruff on it and it'll be good.
Value
amazing value. next thing I'm getting is the rp-350.
Manufacturer Support
haven't dealt
The Wow Factor
pretty good. maybe a little nerdy looking.

"Big Bang for little bucks"
this will do me, effects pedal, drum machine. can even be used through a desk as a DI
Sound
there are some settings that are not perfect, but you can edit them to your preference. the drum machine is a bonus, that really sold me on it. play it through a 10 watt practice amp, you have to hear it to believe it.
Features
the drum machine is excellent. you can change tempo and volume.
you can also modify up to 40 of the presets, to give you 80 effects, awesome
Quality

Value

"Deployed military review"
Verified Customer

Works well for a deployed military guy playing contemp Christian in the middle of Kuwait...
Sound
Adapts well to achieve the various sounds used/needed in contemporary Christian worship services.
Features
Strong features, able to tweak the various factory settings to meet your specific needs. One negative noted is that the drum machine doesn't work when in "bypass" mode. Need to either create "bypass" preset or allow drums to work in "bypass"
Quality
New use. Seems rugged.
Value
A good all-around product for the price. Selected this product because of good price to practicality issue.
Manufacturer Support
Not needed, yet.
The Wow Factor
Not sure how sex appeal equates with a pedal, however, it is a very practical addition to my deployed military setup.

"Killer Value!"
I'll use it until I'm ready to upgrade. Great entry level effects processor (or whatever it's called).
Sound
Cool sounds! Extreme delay effects, wide range of the best effects out there!
Features
I like the fact that it came with a power cord.
Quality
Only had it for a month, but so far so good. I am concerned about the outer shell being plastic, but I'm not kicking the crap out of it anyway.
Value
Next closest for this price is the Zoom. This one's got the drum machine and is $10 cheaper. The drum machine pushed me towards this one, even though the drums aren't the best.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed it yet.
The Wow Factor
I wanted a cheap processor to try out. I like it and will definitely be moving up to bigger and better models.

"first time users can afford this and still enjoy it"
not bad for enter level will move on to better and bigger things just like anyone else.
Sound
It truns a small pratice amp into a monster and the mid-size amps into a very full sound.
Features
no accessories, the most useful features to me are the amp modeling and effects.
Quality
well made but hoped for a metal body.have not had this product long enough to comment on the worry of breaking down or how long it will last.
Value
over priced for a enter level product
Manufacturer Support
Have not needed this part yet
The Wow Factor

I just love this processor. I will never get rid of it.
Sound
Very nice sound. The factory settings are pretty good but i encourage you to make your own.
LISTEN TO ME NOW! If you have any other pedals in your pedal bord you must put this one as the first one comming out of your guitar or the bypass will sound like crap!
Features
I can't even begin to say. just buy it!
Ease of Use
Really nice, if i'm in by bare feet, i can still fool with the setings.
Quality
It's plastic but It holds like a tank.

Pretty cool I love the variety of sounds
Sound
It's really cool once you get the hang of customizing sounds and moving through the like, 1,000,000 effects it's amazing
Features
It came with a battery thing and it has a built in tuner
Ease of Use
You have to go through a lot of effects so it can be diffucult at times
Quality
It's made out of plastic so I don't think it will survive rough stuff
Value
I personally would save up and buy the Rp-90 instead

DigiTech RP50 Effects Customer Review
I have no idea what equipment a professional uses or how such equipment would be set up. I can't imagine a pro buying a b-stock for $40. If you're not a pro, what I got for $40 is incredible. Playing guitar becomes a blast. It makes you want to be creative. Go ahead and buy other pedals for enjoyment but this is sufficient for most players. $40 for all that you get. Outstanding!!!!
Sound
I sounds fine. I have a Zoom G1 and they both are pretty much the same sounding. I just play it out of a solid state 10 Watt amp and it is more than good. You can't just judge it on the presets. You have to make your own sound. No guarantee that it will make the sound you want, music is subjective, but you'll get close
Features
It has more than you could possibly use. Take a look at the Digitech website and manual, you'll see.
Ease of Use
I haven't created any patches yet but it doesn't appear to be that difficult. I'll follow the manual.
Quality
I bought a B-stock. I've only had it a few weeks and it hasn't destructed yet. If plastic keeps the cost down then fine with me.
Value
Incredible value. $40. Think about what players had to pay in the past tio get all these sounds. Sure the pedals were metal, but it cost an arm and a leg. Think of all the junk $40 buys today. This is not junk.

Haven't needed it yet

Sound
It offers a great mix of sounds and tones of toys, it's still can't do every sound, like Eddie Van Halen and Steve vai. But what it does do it does well
Quality
Great practice pedal, and awesome to use to make a demo, even direct line in.
BUT:
It is NOT a performance pedal, although you can use it on the road (and I do).
You might leave your foot on the pedal one millisecond too long and it will switch to another patch, right when your trying to do a solo. Also the pedals are small and you may hit both pedals and it goes into bypass mode. Switching from patch to patch leaves a millisecond of dead air between patches, this effects the dynamic of your songs when going from rhythm to lead.
Although this pedal has almost everything you need, it sometimes lets you down with the above mentioned "on the road" issues.
I now am used to it but anyone using it for the first 2 weeks may get frustrated with it in during a gig or JAM

Likes=Great sounding amp models with the cab simulator on. The british stack and tube drive are good for hard rock/heavy metal (think megadeth or ozzy). Small size. Headphone out.
Dislikes=Eats bateries! get a power supply. Buttons are too close together. Drum machine skips a beat when you switch channels. The tuner gets jumpy unless you're tuning with the neck pickup.
