I like it. Again, with just SMACK compressor, TL Space with the ill reverbs, and an additional 16 tracks of ProTools audio, I'm cool. You also get the beat detective on all tracks (I don't use it that much) and a softsynth called X-pand (can't hold Reasons jock). Also a noice reduction plugin and a full MP3 export function come wit it. Its a cool product. Some will hate, but for what I do its perfect.
Sound
The PT sound engine is already among the best. This kit adds to PT's sound and adds more flavor to your joints. It can run with M-powered too. Its way better than default plugins.
Features
SMACK is hot. My heat has improved tremendously with this tool. The TL SPace reverbs make joints unique. They sample spaces, like a living room with marble floors or something and you can put that sound on a piano or something and yo joints sound like none other. I'm pleased. Also I git 48 PT traks. Just for that, I'd pay 2-3 bills. Some $300 for a softsynth. This tool does improve your production.
Ease of Use
Once I got my smartkey programmed with the authorizations, I was off and running. The most pain was getting that thing authorized. You can put SMACK in individual tracks or in the Mastering Rack. It has defaults that work great. You have to fish around with the TL spaces to find the good ones, and the ones that work better with different sounds or vocals. But its not hard to use at all.
Quality
Digi. What else is there to say. No probs, no crashes yet. Knock on wood!
Value
It is a bit pricey and I could have waited for the price to drop. They have a couple different toolkits now. I was getting M-powered 7.1 and got this instead of the Bombfactory plugins. Its not as complete as Wave Platinum, but it doesn't cost $1500 either. I'm cool.
Manufacturer Support
Some may complain about Digi. I couldn't get the smartkey authorized and it was driving me nuts. One email to tech support and I got a return email to download my authorizations. I was gone then.
The Wow Factor
I really want Wave Platinum and/or the new SSL emulators. That's $2200 though. I'd rather spend that on a Neumann TLM 103 and a Presonus preamp.
