This pedal is clear and professional with two very distinct types of distortions called Alpha and Omega. Although they are both distortions, one is more low key "Alpha", and the other is more aggressive in the attack "Omega".When you blend them both you get a very workable distortion. This AlphaOmicron and the Darkglass b3k pedal are the best heavy metal bass pedals of this type in the market.I highly recommend them both.

"Versatile, modern distortion"

This pedal runs the gamut of extreme modern distortion sounds. It does the fizzy, grindy, tight modern distortion common in modern metal and hardcore (alpha), and does a wild, fuzzy, loose, and overdriven sound (omega) and everything in between. The clean blend is a must for use with bass guitar and the bite switch is crucial for removing all subtlety and getting an in-your-face-sound that cuts and the low end boost puts body back into the most driven tones. Perfect for the intense buzzaw sounds many modern metal and hardcore styles require.
