Everything you need in one inexpensive set! The four brass finger picks are easily adjustable and formable and hold their shape well, even during extended playing. Plus you get two thumb picks- a medium and a large- both with enough tension to stay put on your thumb. This is the perfect set for both beginners and advanced players.
Sound
I like the sound of the brass picks over steel ones. Less metallic string noise, and more comfortable to wear after initial adjustment.
Features
Two different thumb picks included to choose from. The price is great.
Ease of Use
Being that the finger picks are brass, picking sounds less harsh than metal picks (at least on my 90-year-old Dobro).
Quality
The brass picks have some thickness to them, so I suspect they'll last for a fairly long time. The thumb picks are similar in composition to thick guitar picks, so I'd imagine they'd have similar lifespan.
Value
I bought the 6-piece set, so the price was pretty outstanding compared to local stores.
Manufacturer Support
I've not had to contact the manufacturer. Picks are a wear item, so just replace them when it's time.
The Wow Factor
The appeal to me is that D'Addario carried on the tradition of National without changing anything too drastically. I guess you "could" pick on a Dobro without them, but why would you?
