This Sub-woofer is A Monster!!! Bass Can be Heard from hundreds of feet away inside or outside!!! And Shakes The dance Floor!!! Only ? I have is when the limiter light does come on is this normal or do you have to back off because in the book is say 's to back off a little but in the description it says its a feature that keeps it from getting damaged ???

This is an amazing speaker. Totally what I was searching for, it has that clean punchy bass that people spect when playing songs with alot of bass, like hip hop and latino beats.

I am a 10 year Professional DJ, an Audio Visual tech of 7 years for large scale shows (Including the NAMM Show in 2014 California) and my own sound guy. Through all my experience I've always been amazed by the power of live sound on a big scale and trying to recreate it for the smaller stage. I was a Mackie guy in the days of the SRM450 V1 (Italian made) powered speakers. the first Powered sub I owned was the Mackie SWA 1501. In credible bass from a 15 inch speaker but it like to burn itself out with no real provocation. I would have gotten the 1801 but didn't have the space. When I decided to upgrade, I wanted high power, compact and super Bassy. I always knew Cerwin Vega for deep lows but they just weren't mainstream. When I compared all the stats on the Cerwin Vega P1800SX, The QSC KW 181, Mackie SRM 1850 and the JBL PX something lol , I went for the Vega for the power and the Db rating (best Decible rating). With two of these and 4 Mackie SRM450 V1's, I outclass the other DJ who runs a QSC system with 2 KW 181's and two KW152's. My bass makes the bass sound muffled and my kids and highs are studio quality even at loud levels. These subs drop deeper and don't distort. Only 2 issues I have is that these subs tend to dance and walk out into the middle of the dance floor when I get into my EDM and Trapstep set. The other issue is the THRU port is inactive if the Sub is turned off (OR Blown) which means if you daisy chain a top to this sub and the sub goes out, your top will not receive a signal. I simply run my signal from the mixer to the top speaker and then daisy chain to the sub.

Awesome Sub. I haven't gigged yet with it. But I stressed tested it for about 2 hours. no distortion, no Signs of overheating, no Limit light coming on even at high volumes... Just Clean Bass. Great for any size Venue. 725 continuous with a 2000 watt Class D Amp. Cerwin Vega Is pretty well known for they're clean Bass. Top Quality. Thanks Cerwin Vega and most of all thanks zzsounds.com!!!!

"Make sure your channel's are always set on line"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I don't normally review products but reading some of the comments on here I think you maybe accidentally flicking the channel switch to mic mode. the will immediately enhance the volume, clip and depending on how high your volume knobs are set could quite easily blow the drivers. This is my only issue with the 15" & 10" models. I have 6 x 15" 4 x 10" 16 x 18" started buying 2 years ago and been expanding my system since. These are the best speakers out there in terms of sound quality, especially for the price. I prefer the 10" model over the 15" but in some occassions the 15's are needed for the extra punch. in the 2 years iv'e had the speakers I've blown 2 15" drivers but strangely enough they were not in use when the problem occurred. I think it happened during transit. Not one problem with the subs, they've all been pushed to limiting volumes on a regular basis. I'm forever getting compliments of how good these sound, they're extremely crisp with thundering bass. One of my favourite features is the front light limiters. many of the more expensive brands don't have this feature witch saves me the expense of paying someone to stay behind the rig all night checking the limiters. The 10" models limiters seem to be more effective than the 15" perhaps been tweaked or newer technology. Thinking of buying? don't hesitate, these are unbelievable speakers and I am so pleased I checked them against JBL QSC YAMAHA MACKIE equivalent specs to price range and the Cerwins simply took the piss out the lot of them.

"Major Issue with this Sub"

First zZounds is great! I got this subwoofer yesterday. I hooked it up and after 1min at about 1/4 to half gain it made a loud POP and started to smoke. No protection lights or anything and then sounded like it was blown. I had it hooked up to a Peavey Escort 6000 in the subwoofer out. The EQ was all set to 0. I called zZounds right away and they are issuing a pick-up today. I advised them I have a job to do this Friday and need his woofer because I charged the customer extra for the use of the Subwoofer. I hope to get it by Friday night. The rep I spoke to was very helpful and said they would do everything they can but not sure it will make it. They have to get this one back first before they ship the replacement. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks zZounds for all your help. Oh by the way they had my original equipment shipped next day for FREE. What a great company. Will update when I get replacement. Hoping this was just a bad amp and not Cerwin Vega.

I own 2 of these........when they work, they sound good. Definitely powerful and can make some noise.....BUT. I think they are poorly built. They clip really easily and in less than a year they have had the amps replaced in both of them. Disappointed at the quality....would not purchase it again if I had the option

"Sounds Great But Burned Out in the First Half Hour of use"

This unit sounded very good and is quite powerful but if you're in rooms with poor acoustics like bars or restaurants with lots of glass and thin walls or horrible standing waves there's not much you can really do except add more power. This unit although it sounds great at regular volumes (I set the dial on all of my subs to the 12 o clock setting and of the 3 i own this unit clips the worst. EQ is set below flat and both lows and highs are rolled off or stepped down to prevent over driving) is not capable of the brute power needed in this situation. I purchased the KW181 and am now very happy with that as a replacement to this one but even my Behringer Eurolive B1800HP is a better choice than this one... I love the power from the Behringer and the ability to control the upper and lower filter as opposed to the QSC KW181 but it weighs 120lbs and when you're gigging 5 to 6 nights a week like I am on a regular basis the KW 181 is my choice because of the 77lb overall weight of the unit and the fact that the clip light almost NEVER comes on when using the KW 181. The Cerwin Vega P1800SX is a great sounding sub and will be great for situations where you can use 2 and share the load between the 2 but in my situation where I can only place 1 sub in a crowded restaurant of 60 to 90 people with poor room acoustics, standing waves and very little placement options 5 to 6 nights every week, I recommend you take a look at the Behringer/QSC models I own...

I've been DJn for 9 years and I've never heard anything so beautiful for this price. This is definitely the bang for the buck. I have pushed this thing for 4 hours and It never heated up. I would suggest use one for every 100-125 people since you want a nice clean bass sound instead of punching people in the face with bass. It's rugged, comes with wheels, and lightweight so you can carry it by yourself. Also, this speaker is designed to fit anywhere so it doesn't take up a lot of space which is perfect for people who don't have a van or trailer. Overall, this speaker has been good to me and I'm looking foward to buy another as I finish paying off this one.

Ordered this sub on a Saturday and received in on Tuesday. zZsounds is amazing. Unfortunately when I got home to hook my sub up, the sub was DOA. I hooked my tops up to it and signal would flow to my tops and their sound was fine but the sub would not produce an ounce of sound. I tried multiple sets of cable (Mogami, Hosa & Monster) and still no sound would come out of the sub. Even the high pass/low pass filter on the back would work properly with my tops but no booming bass. This sub looked good, smelled good & even probably would have been good but its a dud. zZsounds handled the RMA EXTREMELY well and professional providing me with amazing support for this. Not sure if I will stick with Cerwin and move to another brand but I wish it did work so I could be driving some people insane.

VERY weak 700 watts,my cabnet had BIG TIME issuse. With it not even on you could push on top of the cabnet and it would sqeak, and at about 90db it sounded like it was coming apart as well as the limit lights pretty well were GLOWING,good sound though at lower volumes, but come on...it's a SUB. I returned my CV and ordered a QSC KW181 and so far have seen 100-110 db spl and have never seen the limiter lights even flicker, and it runs nice and cool, KW181 is a THOUSAND time better!!!
