Right out of the box, massively sharp fret ends. There’s no way they didn’t see this from the factory. Second, the absolute trash tuning stability. I’ve run through every single possible setup step, lube the nut, set up trem to perfect level, block the trem if needed, and it was still awful. Absolutely no way this is acceptable from a guitar this expensive. I’ve played squiers that have better tuning stability. Pickups had no travel in them whatsoever. But, the guitar does feel very nice besides the fret ends. That’s pretty much all there is to say that’s good about it. I was told to contact charvel, and then I sat on hold for 25+ minutes and they hung up on me twice. Ridiculous.

after owning this for a few months now, I really enjoy this guitar. It's actually become my number one guitar. BUT ONLY after you sink about an additional $200 in parts and labor. Expect the guitar to show up unplayable. I've had to send one back, second one I got was just as bad. The overall design of the guitar is bad. Tuners come non-staggered, which is incorrect for fender style headstocks, and string trees are placed too close to the nut, which adds way too much of a break angle for proper nut functionality. Although they are roasted maple necks, the frets come sharp out of the box, on both guitars I've had work on. my electronics were also wrong. it DID NOT ship with low friction/high friction pots with high pass filter. The pricetag of 1299 is outrageous for what you get out of the box. single coil pickups sound more like P90s. overall, good gtr i guess just kinda sucks how expensive it was for what you get.
Sound
sounded pretty good. very disappointed with the single coils. probably not what people want when they think of an hss setup.
