These are pretty underrated basses, IMO. The preamp has a bad reputation but , in my opinion, it sounds OK but comes out of the factory turned up too high. Open up the back cavity and turn it down and it sounds good. There may be better after market preamps but the stock preamp is not as bad as some say. Other that that, the bass plays really nice and has a nice look. Not a lot to complain about.
