I wanted a sleek modern looking acoustic-electric and Breedlove built a beautifully handcrafted piece of art that has become my daily player. Comfortable neck, nice and low action - a tiny trusty rod adjustment for the humidity of Florida. Beautiful resonant sound - much more piano-like than ‘Martin’ sounding. The bouts are a smaller than a dreadnaught- but the depth keeps it deep and resonant. The LR Baggs electronics are the best sounding that I’ve worked with. This guitar’s finish is stunning, draws attention, and I can’t wait for the myrtle to age - it’s a keeper, and I look forward to playing this for a few decades.
Sound
The sound is modern, piano like - with full spectrum chord sounds, especially upper harmonics.
Features
The neck finish is perfect, fit is comfortable, craftsmanship is top quality.
Ease of Use
I pair this with an orange acoustic pre and go straight into FRFR powered cabs. I add a mic with the orange pre when I want additional ‘natural acoustic’ sounds. The LR Baggs works phenomenally with the orange acoustic pre.
Quality
Attention to detail is what you’d expect for a handmade guitar of this price. Zero issues in craftsmanship or finish. It’s flawless other than the wear and tear I’ve put on it.
Value
I would buy another Breedlove, definitely. I’ll be shopping their smaller bodies soon.
Manufacturer Support
After registering on the Breedlove site, they actually reached out and sent a ‘welcome to Breedlove’ package with some goodies.
The Wow Factor
The finish on myrtle is really a stunner - the satin finish on the back of the neck is smooth and ever-so playable. This is a guitar that grabs attention when it’s seen.

I am really struggling with this review. I bought this guitar back in June of last year. When it arrived I was extremely pleased with its appearance, but even more so with the way it sounded. Just a pretty sound. Different than my other guitars. Fun to play. Easy to play. But in February, the bridge just BROKE OFF! It didn’t just delaminate.....it delaminates AND broke. I run light gauge strings. Take very good care of my guitars. This one just FAILED! I trusted the part that said “American Made” and didn’t register the warranty, and the company is all about the warranty. Their website is adamant. Their voicemail is adamant. I even went to Guitar World to pay for repairs and they called Breedlove themselves and commented to me about how their voicemail preached warranty. I told them I’d already heard it.And since I hadn’t registered it because I trusted the “American Made” moniker, I didn’t even try to argue with the, about workmanship. It honestly, the bridge SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED IN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE GUITAR’S LIFE! It wasn’t mistreated.Unfortunately, I’d be hard pressed to buy another one, or even recommend to someone else that they do.But the guitar sounded so sweet.I have a local shop making a repair for under $200, so we’ll see.Lesson learned. No matter what brand, register the warranty! Expensive (and very disappointing) lesson.
