This amp has any effect you may need, and has great sounding amp models. There is a lot of customization, and you could pretty much achieve any tone you could think of, especially when using the boss tone studio on PC.

Having a great time finding sounds that get me off!Easy tweaking and saving banks. Daem loud 100 watts for SS. I've got Plexi's and a JMP plugged into 412's. I know loud. This lil 100 watt combo surprised me. Plenty of volume for rehearsals/gigs. Get the foot switch for gigging. Have your saved banks at the tap of a foot. Having a blast with it even though I own very killer amps. Glad I added it to the stable of fun. Excellent grab and go amp.

I just recd my amp today so I haven't dug too deep into its total capability's but just out of the box and having spent about an hour listening, I'm really impressed. One of the reviews stated this amp came up a bit short on bass response, I haven't found that, I mean it can be adjusted to ones liking however the level being set at 12:00 there appears to be plenty but not overbearing by no means. Cosmetically, its really a slick looking amp, neat clean. Pictures don't do it justice. I will update my review after having played my fingers bloody. First impression, outstanding! zZounds made it possible, so I'm gonna pull the trigger on my next guitar with them as well. Check into this series of amps, you will love em.

I'm not one to rush to review anything. I'm a let's wait and let's see how it sounds and how well it holes up. In this case I got the amp on 12/13/2020. That's only two years. So that how I'm rating it. It's a great amp in that it has many features for getting almost any tone and shaping your own presets. But quality, value and Manufacturer Support take big hit's in star ratings from me for only lasting two years setting in lite duty in the studio. The amp has never been pushed it has set in the 0.5 watt setting since I bought it. used only for recording. The bad thing is for musician like myself it's the only amp in a price range I can afford. And that's only because of the payment plans here at zZounds. So think about it before you buy. You may be replacing it in two years or less. I've read many forums about the same thing happening to other Katana owners.

I'm really into the sounds this amp creates. There is one major drawback from me that I'm surprised doesn't pop up in other reviews - maybe it's just my bad hearing, but I feel like there is very little bass response in this speaker. It's a pretty flat sound unless you are directly in front of the speaker which, who ever is on a floor standing amp. I may mic it up to deal with this issue or output to a computer with monitor speakers. Either way, this is yet more gear I need to buy to deal with the issue. All that aside, this thing is packed with great quality amp sounds a effects. The 2x12 may deal with the spread of the bass frequencies, and it also includes cabinet modeling (not on this model). It would be nice to be able to control from a tablet or phone because of the fact I don't have a computer at home to dial in more nuanced sounds with Boss Tone Studio. As a practice amp, it's great.

Just got the amp today so can't say too much about it yet. Played around with it a bit and it seems to be well featured, well built, and sounds pretty damn good. Ordered it two days ago and already got it! zZounds is top notch when it comes to fast shipping and customer service, (when they actually have merchandise in stock). I've ordered a lot of gear from them and am fairly satisfied overall.

I wanted to see what all the hype was about with the katana series, so I ordered one. It’s pretty much as advertised. It sounds good and is plenty versatile. A very practical choice for most home players who want the ability to jam and gig. You can’t expect perfection at this price, but there are things about the build quality that make it feel as cheap as it is. Cabinet components are glued in and there are gaps and some excess glue. Not a deal breaker for most, but worth mentioning.

"Boss Katana 100 MK2"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars

The problem I have with this amp is the sound quality. I don't consider myself a tube snob or tube maniac. I bought this amp on a recommendation from someone. I wanted to lighten the load at my age and so I gave this a try as it was only twenty-something pounds. The clean tones in IMHO are ok. the chorus is nice. The problem I have is the crunch, lead, the dirty tones to me sounded very tinny. I played around with it for an extended time and when I cut the treble back to 0 it sounded slightly better. But then I realized it would never sound as good as my Bugera does. I guess they call it tube emulation but IMO it's not quite there yet or at least Boss hasn't mastered it yet.Of course one of the great thing about zZounds is you don't have to live with a product you don't like. I just packed everything back up as it was sent to me and shipped it right back. Thanks zZounds.

I tried the mark 2 and don't find it exceptional enough to go from the mark 1. Where the Fender Mustang really made strides is having wireless bluetooth ability to change parameters.. Both of the Katana's need to have a computer USB cable to adjust settings like The noise gate and that's a pain. The whole Bluetooth connection is fantastic on the Fender Mustang and if the Boss Katana 3 were to come out with that option that would be enough for me to make the jump.
