My Katana Mk2 212 arrived right on time and in perfect working order. I was blown away at the tone of this amp!!! It's the only solid state amp that can get extremely close to a Marshall tube amp as well as others! I was really impressed with the acoustic amp (which is what I will use a lot) it really replicates an awesome true acoustic sound, totally amazing in my opinion.!!!! I also like the fact that you can control the wattage of the amp from 0.5 watts to 50 and then 100watts. So, when the neighbors are home (I live in an apartment) I keep it at 0.5 but when they're gone to work, I'm not afraid to crank it up but I should be because this thing is so freakin' LOUD!!! There is no way I could handle it at max volume!!now I do have one complaint not about the amp but about the updates that you have to do, it's not explained very well by Boss, it downloads the driver you need to use Tone Studio, but you have to update your amp first and that's where it gets confusing (well to me it did) you have to go through certain steps to update your amp. Thanks to YouTube there are some good videos that can guide you through the steps.! Now as far as Tone Studio goes it's a great tool to help you with tweaking your different amp settings but the patches and live sets in Tone Studio I didn't find all that useful granted some were good and could be useful but most of them to me were overly saturated with way to many effects I found it was better to tweak the amps factory settings or to create my own patches. Now I really think you can't go wrong with this amp it's an amazing amp and well-built as are all of the products by Boss are, I have never had a product by Boss to either wear out or break and I have used Boss products for 45+ years. I am also a big fan of zZounds because of their quality products, customer service and their pay as you play plan!!! I will continue buying all my music gear from them!!!

zZounds delivered this in great shape and arrived a day early, kudos zZounds. The amp is amazing and plays easily right out of the box with amazing tones and effects. This is without even onboarding more from Boss online. The output is stellar, as I can go from bedroom amp at .5 watts, to rehearsal at 50 watts, to performance at 100 watt and never feel like I need more. Literally put it against my friends JCM 800 4x10 and the Katana held its own with gusto. My my friend raise his eyebrows and go “how much did you pay for that again?” Leaves a smile on my face every time I play it. Truly a quality piece of equipment!

If your looking for a great amp that can accomplish many roles then this is your go to. I own a Marshall tube amp as well as this one and the sound from it is comparable. It may not be perfect for getting the tube amp sound, but it will come close. The effects built in is a nice feature if you dont want to tote a pedal board, but it handles pedals very well on the clean channel, and with 100 watts of power driving the 2x12" speakers it is loud, loud, loud. Highly recommend.

All I can say is Holy Moly!! I'm surprised BOSS isn't going bankrupt selling these. I have owned probably 15 to 20 amps in my 25 years of playing. Mostly tube. From Marshell to Peavey, Fender and so on. The tones you get out of this amp is amazing. I haven't played through a solid state amp till just recently when I bought a Orange Super Crush. (Through zZounds of course) This boss katana sounds much like a tube amp that my band mates thought it was. Plus the effects they have put in it you would have to pay thousands to do individual pedals to even come close. So many options. Probably the best purchase I've ever made. And for the money. Don't hesitate before BOSS catches on and doubles the price. I bought the 100 watt 212 cause I thought I'd need it. Tons and Tons of power and I hardly have it turned up. The 50 watt 112 would have been more than enough. Bottom line buy one. You won't be disappointed and you definitely won't be breaking the bank to at least try it. (The Gafc pedal makes it much more easy when playing with a band)

These are absolutely great amps, I had bought the KTN 50 a couple months ago and loved it. My friends all kept asking if I'd be interested in selling it. I thought about it a bit and ended up selling it for almost what I paid for it. I used that as my first payment on upgrading to the Mk2 2x12. I've had that amp a couple weeks now and just ordered a second one to use the new stereo damping feature. Loudest 2x12 amp I've ever heard in a combo, and this amp modeling stuff has come a long way in the last 20 years. If you are new to the katana series, I can say that they are worth every penny, and if you are new to zZounds they are a great company. This no hassle credit they offer is the best thing I've seen a company do for musicians. Let's face it most of us probably wouldn't qualify for a normal loan through a credit bureau but a lot of people are responsible and deserve a fair shot. These guys get it, just make sure you can afford your payments and you are set.

Upgraded to the 50 Mark I a few years ago and didn't know what I had. Traded it in for a Fender 212 FMR 100 watt. It was good, but it didn't have the sound I was trying to create. After much ho-hum and years of settling, I started researching 100 watt amps; Blackstar, Marshall, Harley Benton, etc. Couldn't come to a decision. So I took another look at the Katana line. Thanks to Dagan at PMTV (check him out on YouTube) and much thought, I bought the 100 watt Mk II. WOW!!! I was missing out!!! Now I am crafting my sound and am extremely pleased!!! Thanks to zZounds for the easy payment plan and for a kick ass do-it-all amp!!

It is to early yet to give this unit a full performance review, I plugged her in and she sounds great, there are some tasty effects and it’s gonna be a week or two before I can give a real assessment, but I wanted to give a shout-out to zZounds. Tuesday night I was playing on my Marshall, it was sounding super muddy and lacking in power, figured out I need to change the tubes and adjust the bias, which is something I will do down the road. So, I figured screw it I will shop around for a new amp and the Boss Katana caught my eye, I have used similar Boss/Roland amps in the past albeit on a much smaller scale so I knew the quality would be there. Remember this is Tuesday night, so I ordered me the Katana probably around 8:30-9:00 pm it arrived this Thursday morning a day and a half later! Talk about lightning fast shipping! This is my second order from zZounds, the shipping is so so fast and the payment plans make it easy to upgrade my equipment quickly when I need it most! Thank You! Unbelievable! Took it out of the box and in 5 minutes I had a really nice tone going... Hooked up my Helix LT in the clean channel and went into another dimension. For the money it's awesome. Easily worth twice as much. Me so happy. Thank you zZounds for being so generous with the payment plans.

Ill start off by saying I don't care about or use most of the effects. For me there's only a couple of good simple tones here, crunch with green booster and Lead with gain below noon, but I'm old school. Being 100 watts, those two settings get me a good representation of those 1978 to 1992 tones I love. What's good about this is its 2x12 and 100 watts which actually gives you good headroom and depth even at low volumes. Is it going to sound as alive and harmonic as a high end tube amp? No. But its great for low to mid volume playing. I personally don't use the effects and dont play it loud enough to comment on if it falls apart at very high volumes as most solid state and low watt tube amps tend to, guys who gig loud will have to comment on that aspect. That said the value here for a 100 watt digital/solid state cant be beat

Had the chance to try it out today, stuned, stoked, and amazed. I've only touched the surface of this amp, and I'm just totally satisfied. This amp is the do all, be all of the solid state amp world.
