Main reason I bought this compressor was my amplifier. Old school 1987 Laney AOR 100MV 6 knobber. This amplifier is incredible. Very powerful with 4 12AX7 in preamp and 4 EL34 in power section. This is not modern amp with very compressed and tight sound , but no modern amplifier sounds like AOR. Low end is so great but very organic and not compressed. I play heavy metal and I needed more compression especially in low registers. Bogner Lyndhurst transformed my amp into modern heavy metal beast. This pedal is so great. My sound now is incredible. I'm using Diezel Herbert distortion which is tight itself , but with Lyndhurst I jumped into new dimensions. Compressor reacting very accurate for even smallest pot movement . Level pot is very sensitive , and when you pass 12 o'clock Lyndhurst got a bit noise, but really you do not need to go that far with overall level of this compressor. I keep it before 9 o'clock and it work fantastic. Instead of tone pot Bogner used a toggle switch. There is a three options so you can find EQ setting up to your taste. With compression pot I obtain endless sustain even with noise gate set to high level. Now my low end is punchy and tight . Bogner is a genius. This kind of compression I could obtain only in studio before. Now I got it at home...front of my amp.. . My only pain is the price of this pedal. It could cost less , but main factor about pricing this pedal was transformer used inside. Rupert Neve. So this is kind of expensive pedal but on other hand...there is a lot of studio compressors they don't sounds even in the half as Bogner Lyndhurst and costs 7 times more.
