I was in between the Rode and this one for quite some time. After being able to loosely test this out at NAMM 2018, I really liked how it adjusted effortlessly and was very quiet. So, I recently purchased this to use with my SM7b and I chose wisely. Not sure what anyone else is disgruntled about but this is well made, sturdy, and adjusts easily. A little mentioned perk for this arm is the cable management. Looks great and works great.

This arm is great! Well built, no need to tighten up at the joints. Handles the SM7b like a champ. Solid attachment to my desk and no noisecwhile adjusting. This arm looks slick and the cable management is an added benefit over other arms in the price range.

"Just OK for me"

I tried hard to like this boom but the fact that it has trouble holding up a Rode Procaster microphone just made me not want to use it. I went back to my Samson boom which works wonderful btw. Like so many others I was drawn in by the styling and wanted to make it work out but no go. It is just an ok boom to me. I suppose it would work with some lightweight mics but anything close to two pounds and it has trouble holding it up. I had to tighten everything up all the way before it would hold my Rode mic and then it still wanted to fall down.

"Buyer Beware"

This product is so poorly made and cheap. It's a crime that Blue is selling this for $99. First, there's too much tension in the springs. Second, the knobs meant to secure the arm while bent are plastic. Third, the knob mechanisms are impossible to tighten enough to actually hold the arm in a set position because (1) they're made of plastic and (2) there's too much spring tension. This product is absolute garbage. Don't be fooled by the product description which says it's made of solid aluminum. The frame is aluminum but the mechanical mechanisms are plastic and cheap.
