If you are looking for an amazing practice amp or something for home studio use, this is the product you need to buy.
Sound
As far as sound goes... I would put this against any other head on the market. The advantage with the Blackstar HT-5H is that it is extremely versatile. It has an amazing range for playing anything from Jazz or Blues to Death Metal. The tone is amazing and very easy to control.
Features
This amp only has a clean and an overdrive channel which wouldn't be bad if the high/mid/low could be adjusted separately for each channel. Unfortunately, whatever your settings are, they will be used for both channels. It does come with a footswitch though and two speaker cables so you are ready to go right out of the box. I do wish it had some sort of reverb or delay channel built in but they make a model that includes that. This one, however, does not have it. I think though that for the tone and sound you get, I'm more than willing to forgive the lack of a built in effect. In addition, it has some new fangled technology that allows you to plug direct for recording that sounds AMAZING. I've never had any other amp sound great plugged direct until I bought this one. Excellent for a studio.
Ease of Use
Too easy.
Quality
Well made, sturdy and nice to look at. Knobs move with perfect fluidity and nothing feels loose or cheap.
Value
This is only a 5W head but it was worth every penny!!! It blows away anything else listing at this price.
The Wow Factor
I think sex appeal is an absurd quality to look for in a piece of musical gear but I will say it is aesthetically pleasing.

The lower the wattage the more you can push it without destroying your ears and overtaking peeps around you and because of this you can get a sick tone, not big enough for a huge venue? Throw a mic on it...most places mic things anyway so the bigger the better? ehh it's about tone. This is a practice amp but nothing is holding me back from playing out with this thing. It's perfect for my studio, well rounded tone and really easy to use. For the price is a steal. You will be stealing from blackstar if you buy this lol. very versatile. The clean channel is OK I wish it was a bit better but not enough to make you not buy this thing.
