I recently just purchased a warehouse resealed version. You get a lot of amp for the price. I wanted a good all-around amp that could handle all styles. I can't say much on reliability since I just received it, but it seems to be solidly built. As for sound, it can go from sparkly clean jazz to heavy metal. The voice switches are a great feature. I know it has received criticism for not having a presence switch, but I honestly don't care. It can get noisy if you crank the gain and volume/master volume, but that's not a big deal since I don't plan on breaking windows any time soon. I play this thru a load box into an IR pedal. For you metalers out there, it has plenty of gain. I would describe the high gain settings as having a loose feel to them which you can tighten up with a tube screamer of some sort. I also have a Randall Diavlo rd 20, and the Blackstar has more gain, but not as tight sounding. The Blackstar also has quite a bit more features as well. I'll probably experiment with different preamp tube brands at some point.I haven't tried the usb out yet, but I don't really have a need for it. The simulated cab output is usable. I like the reverb, which some don't like. I think it's perfectly fine. So far so good.

So, I have been playing guitar for 40 years, always used Marshall's, So I did a bit of research, And found that 2 guys from the research and development team at Marshall for almost 20 years were trying to make some changes on some Marshall amps, Well Marshall said, "No", and these 2 guys decided to leave and start their own Co. Well just let me say, This 50 Watt head, Loaded with British sound and quality, could not be better! So many different features, and options of tone is incredible! Anyone looking to buy a Marshall head for over 2k, buy one of these!! you will not be disappointed! My god it sounds incredible! For under a grand at that!!, I do use a Marshall 1960 A slant cab with it, But this Blackstar is no slouch! zZounds was amazing as always! out of the Box, perfect condition! Thank you zZounds once again!!

I have been a Blackstar amp owner and guitar player for 40+ years. This amp has what it takes to be a front runner whether playing at home or gigging out. The cleans are crystal clear and the the OD channel is absolutely amazing. With the voicing switch, it allows you to put a little dirt in the clean channel and makes the OD channel come alive. Blackstar hit the nail on the head with this series of amps. I highly recommend you purchase one....you won't regret it....
