When considered in aggregate, this interface is an incredible deal and obvious step-up from the likes of other 2x2 boxes out there. The sound of the digital audio conversion in this is incredible- on par with UA, Apogee, and RME. I like all of those better than this, but they are super expensive and this is so close it doesn't matter. The MOTU offerings are also almost as good, but I'll take the Revolution over that every day of the week. Converters are where every studio should spend the most money, and now beginners and home recordists can get *actual* studio quality DAC in a desktop, bus-powered, interface for under $300. And that's before considering the preamps. These smoke anything I've mentioned so far aside from the Apogee, including the UA pres which really need their software to sound good. The only downside is this interface's minimal i/o. Other than the two mic pres, your only other input is spdif (odd choice imo) and same goes for outputs. You got monitors and one set of headphones, spdif, and that's it. The MOTU M4 is a good competitor to this for it's additional i/o but the Revolution sounds so much better, and the MOTU sounds very very good. If this is in your price range, and you'd don't think you'll need the i/o, this is a no-brainer for throw-it-in-the-backpack interfaces or simple home studios. Also a great choice for home stereo audiophiles!

A little confusing getting it set up but boy what a sound! I love this thing and worth every penny. I’ve seen some folks complain about it should have 2 headphones outlets. I’ve heard wished connections were in the back instead of front. Who cares if you want all that spend 1,500 dollars. I love it!!! All I know is it works and works very well I must say!!

Coming from a Universal Apollo Twin X, I was skeptical that a bus-powered interface could replace it. But with Black Lion Audio's expertise from having modified many other pieces, I imagined they got to take the best of all worlds and put them into their interface. This thing is a wonderful piece of equipment, and I'm glad I bought. I don't think this price can be beat for the quality you get. The headphone amp is as described...it gets loud!! This works very well with Windows (unlike some other interfaces), and like other reviews have stated, it's built like a tank. For this being their first audio interface...A+.

The ONLY problem with this interface is once you hear how incredible everything sounds through it nothing else can really compare.This thing is pure witchcraft. The sound is transparent yet colored, Flat yet Vibrant and Dynamic.I refuse to listen to numbers. I engineer Sound, Not mathematics. My ears review after review say that this interface is battling with the more universally known brands *ahem*.. and in my opinion BLA is winning.My ears have tuned to everything from a Behringer UMC, Scarlette, Evo, Apollo, all the way up the Lynx we use at the studio.This thing holds its weight WELL when compared to the Lynx. As far as the otherS mention. They are not even in the same solar system as this. Ether the quality lacks or the price tag is double for this kind of sound. Not to mention this is hands down the best headphone amp I have ever heard.. anywhere in anything at any price.Don't sit on this. Momentum is picking up and BLA is not the biggest company.. Get it while they last or be last to get it.¡Viva la Revolución!

The Black Lion Audio Revolution 2x2 is by far the best purchase I've made in years!! The Build is Seriously Well Built. The Quality is better than the last 5 more expensive audio interfaces I've owned. The reason I initially bought it is the first 2 channel interface with SPDIF digital in and out! Works perfect with my RME converters!! Go get yourself one NOW!!
