I've used and/or owned many of the standards in this category, all good mics, but this Beyerdynamic is something special. I have used this mic for vocals, acoustic guitar and mandolin, and I don't have to do a thing with EQ. It just sounds natural, doesn't have any weird peaks, has better sibilance resistance (for my voice) and it's *small* and easy to place anywhere. Yes, it's a bit spendy for a dynamic mic, but for me, it's so good and fast to use with no wasted time in mixing and fiddling to get the right sound, I wish I'd had one of these years ago. (I have not needed manufacturer support, but have used this company for headphones and they've been outstanding, so gave it a 5 there, too.)
