"Great value!"

Yup, it's a great little doodad for not too much money. I'll take care of it and it will probably last.
Sound
Overall sound is good except the EFX. They're noisey (see earlier posts about setting low returns and hot sends to minimize noise) and mostly sound kind of tinny and metallic. However, they're fine in a non-critical pinch, or if you're recording and want to have some EFX in the monitor, but not on the track - I don't think I'd lay these efx to a track unless I was going for a slightly nasty sound. Other than that, the pre's are reasonably quiet and it's a remarkable value.
Features
Love the 4, count'em 4 stereo channels, separate from 4 mic channels, and especially the subs. If you haven't had a mixer with 4 subs before, here's a tip, in brief: assign only things you want to record to the subs, and run the sub outputs into your recorder (i.e., sound card). Take the output of your recorder into a stereo channel assigned to Mains only - not the subs, or you'll have a feedback loop. Assign the subs to pass through to the mains, and then if you monitor the mains you'll hear the recorder and what you're recording. Run the control room outs to your monitoring system and you have a handy switch to choose which set of outputs to monitor. Also, assign those nasty efx to mains only, if you want them when you're recording but don't want to print them. This is killer flexibility for a $180 board!! Other than that, I haven't made major use of the sweepable EQ yet because I'm using it to record so I record flat and EQ the track, but I do in general love sweepable mids in live recording. I do a fair amount of theatre work so I'm thinking those may come in handy for that.
Quality
Really, it's good for the money. I would have rated it higher except for the stinky effects.
Value
Really a pretty nice piece, spectacularly cheap. If you don't use the built-in EFX it won't ruin your recordings.
Manufacturer Support
I have no personal experience, but I've heard it's no good. On the other hand, I have a Behringer headphone distro, compressor, feedback killer, and the little MXB 1002 (sweet little mixer that will run off batttery power), and I haven't broken any of them yet. But then I don't break much, except keyboards.
The Wow Factor
I got it cause it's a good value and I needed another small mixer.

Behringer needs to work out the FX noise issues with the levels from the main control. Set the master FX level at 9 o'clock and the wet mix at 3 o'clock. Drive the channels at 12 o'clock. That should help.
Sound
Quiet,,well thought out for the price. Looking fwd to using it for live gigs and for some simple home recording.
Features
Another review about the FX controls were correct,,,you have to turn down the main FX level and turn up the wet mix level and increase the individual channel FX level to keep the noise down. Has some decent presets for FX but would've been better to have more control over the process. Still sounds okay.
Quality
Smooth faders,,durable chassis,,,owned other Behringer units before.
Value
Can't get a better product for the same money.
Manufacturer Support
Never used it in the 4 years that I've owned Behringer gear/mixers.
The Wow Factor
I stepped up to this unit from an MX-802A,,needed more channels,,features for recording,,,and the FX built in is nice.

"Buy it for the Ins and Outs and avoid the FX"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'm satisfied. My only beef is the useless FX unit. why put it in there if it's so worthless and just makes noise?
Sound
This model is surprisingly clean (except for the FX channel which is noisey as all get out). The FX sound like crap though and I never plan on actually using them so it doesn't matter for me. I got this model because of all the channels, not the FX unit. Just turn off the FX send and the noise levels are well within reason. The mic preamps are just as nice as the preamp on my M-audio Ozone so I can't complain. and by using a handful of really bad mics I've been able to mic a drum kit and make remarkably clean recordings.
Features
Lots of ins and outs. the EQ is nice. I'm using it in a pretty complicated recording/performance setup and it does everything I need it to. the FX are laughable and completely worthless but I bought the unit intending not to use them so they don't really affect my attitude toward the mixer. I just wish Behringer made a 16 input mixer without the damn FX unit.
Quality
It looks like a mixer should. It's a nice size for the number of channels. I bought a used model and it works like a charm so I'm expecting this thing to last.
Value
A good deal. go for B-stock or Used for the best deal.

Fantastic for live work, bang for the buck..despite the FX...get one.
Sound
Great sound. Sucky FX...don't buy it for the FX (You do have an external FX processor...right...RIGHT!?!)
Features
It has all the standard features a mixer should. Bang for the buck
Quality
It looks so sexy in my studio. :)
Value
Definately bang for the buck. The channels are warm and clear...just as an analog mixer should sound.
Manufacturer Support
Don't know...haven't needed it.
The Wow Factor
It looks like any other mixer really, but the sort of brushed metal look is very sexy.

unless i spill a sick ammount of coffee in it, or some scumbag boosts it, i htink it's here to stay.
Sound
I have no problem with the sound, and to be honest, it's warmner then i expected.
Features
are you kidding? I still have alot to lear about this box.
Quality
yea, raod worthy. Gentle like most gear, still a bullet proof steel box, rack mountable, so it's tougher then it looks.
Value
199$ no tax, no shipping, and saved 300$ in effects, and preamps. Think it's a good deal?

"Sweepable mids on a compact budget priced mixer!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Would be nice to see the same features but with 2 mics, 1 stereo input and effects. don;t need the AUX or Sub or routing swithces. Would make a perfect compact karaoke rig.
Sound
Sounds Adequate, The features is the main thing at the size and cost The effects arent great, but they are only used for vocal reverb in this case and the #6 is a nice delay/reverb setting
Features
This is the ONLY compact mixer with sweepable mids. That's where all the action is on the mic inputs for vocals. I use the channel inserts for 2 mics to go through the feedback destroyer. works great
Ease of Use
I dont like the assign, mute, solo buttons on a mixer. I have had people on the road not knowing why their channels wont work only to find a problem there. (but thats a small complaint)
Quality
these are nice products. Only concern is that they don't directly sell repair parts. It's a hassle ended up having to get replacement faders from yamaha when rebuilding the mixer after 3 years abuse. The faders ended up all filled with gunk ( not behringers fault)
Value
Just can't beat the value. just got a xenyx1002 for $89.00 new price just can't be touched.
Manufacturer Support
Repair parts only from "dealers" who don't carry the parts. Also when asking advice on fusing the powersupplies for the smaller behringers ( 2 died on me) the tech seemed all evasive about suggesting anything outside of the script
The Wow Factor
Very nicely laid out and at a good size to build into a system

"Lots of functions, but not a lot of uses."

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It been about two months, and I am looking for its replacement. Absolutely, not a Behringer.
Sound
The sound quality is ok, but not as good as I expected, since I see some good rating on the internet. The biggest problem is noise, especially when the FX is turned on.
Features
The features on this unit is impressive for the price that I paid for, unfortunately, they are almost useless. If you plan to buy this for its FX, don't. None the the FX settings has any decent sound quality for vocal. Either it has too much of the effect or too little, and you really can't modify the settings. By the way, you should turn down the main FX control and increase the individual control on each channel to decrease the noise. I find the sub mix to be especially useful for recording to my computer, but it went bad (it barely output anything) after about two months. The solo button is useful. The RCA (tape I/O) jacks are good, but they only work in one direction at a time. As soon as you route the tape input to the main mix, it disables the tape output.
Quality
The box looks pretty solid with the aluminum casing, however, my submix fader (it might be the internal circuitry) went bad within about two months.
Value
For the price and the features, I would give it a 9 simply because it gives you a lot for the money. However, the features are good for doing some karaoke stuffs. If you plan to use this for live gigs, or home recording, please steer clear of this. I tried all the different settings and could not get any decent sound.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't tried it yet. I might not even bother with sending it in and get another refurbished one.
The Wow Factor
I needed a mixer to do some mixing to my computer and found this one to have all the functions I needed for a good price. I now need to spend some more money to get a different one to do what I initially set out to do, and hook this one to my stereo system for my little daughter to sing karaoke.

Just simply works for my application. If I sat down with Uli Behringer and had him design a perfect piece of equipment to my specifications it would be this mixer. A little particular about the mic and the gain settings, but that is a sign of its sensitivity and accuracy and not a drawback.
Sound
this mixer says pro on it, and I think you really need to u nderstand how to set the gain levels at each stage and realize that the effects are not to be recorded if you are using the mixer for that purpose. You can make this mixer sound awful if you don't pay attention to matching levels.
Features
The built in effects truly serve their purpose. The different outputs and the abundance of stereo inputs show that this mixer was designed with computer recording in mind.
Quality
Smart design and layout, confident feeling faders, speaks of quality
