so far so good.....this is a unique pedal with very distinctive features...no need to compare for now...this pedal fills a void zone between other effects.
Sound
I think that Behringer is a very smart and happenin' company! I have been steadily collecting and using more and more of their pedals. Nevermind the plastic molded chassis, these pedals are ingeniously manufactured replicating the best of every other popular brand products on the market. As soon as I saw this pedal, by the name of it alone, I knew that Behringer was on to something else. The first time I stepped on it in the studio, everybody in the room noticed the sound and tone change. It is THAT awesome! This pedals seems to 'defrag' the input sound and results in a kind of breaking up of the overtone parcials. You can get bell like tones, broad mid reaches and fatter or thinner tones. It swells up chord comping. I put it in line 2nd to my eq/compressor for it to flair my guitar's signal thru my chain. It also works great behind your distortions, overdrives, what have you, as a 'finisher' effect to your signaled tone. It's amazing behind your wah!
Features
The plastic stomp switch worries me, and it never goes away the feeling of 'I hope that it doesn't break, I still have another set to play' kind of thing. So you MUST always use this pedal with a cool head. Then, it will probably last a good long while....years even. But it's plenty sturdy for players who aren't as concerned about putting on a wild show.
Ease of Use
two knobs..you got the ears....figure some sounds out!
Quality
This pedal is actually pretty rugged and if you handle it as you might anything electrical. There's no need to to judge durability by thinking that something has to take abuse to measure up...I mean, I've got Boss and Cry Babys and MXRs..the steel box jammies, and I don't throw them around to test them to see how much abuse they can take....drop any of those brands hard enough and stuff will jumble up inside. I don't see dropping this pedal to be any more harmful to it than if any other pedal was whacked about.
Value
I have yet to know another pedal that offers this description of 'spectrum enhancing'. If there is one out there, so be it, but Behringer has opened a door here with this one.
Manufacturer Support
As I said, I have been collecting more Behringer pedals over the past several months. I have been in contact thru their site and their responses are fast and very helperful. This is a really great company....knowledgeable staff and a clean product sales effort.
The Wow Factor
It fits in with all the rest.
