"Not A Better value Out There"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I bought these because I was tired of packing around B-300's in road cases. These are very sturdy and fit tight stages very well. They acheive SPL's typical of much larger speakers, and the overall sound quality is very good. I haven't been able to break them up, yet, and I've used them on some fairly loud gigs.
Sound
For their size and price, the sound is excellent. The first time a drummer ever yelled at me to turn his monitor DOWN was with these. While the sound quality may not quite equal, marginally, the megabuck$ more EV SX series that we also use, it's been very decent for every application that I've used them on.
Features
I've been using B300's for monitors, also, and these are much the same, except for the size and weight. Like the B300's, the volume & EQ knobs are vulnerable, so a little care is needed when packing. Other than that, everything is very straightforward and user friendly.
Ease of Use
Dialing them in is a piece of cake. The size, shape, and weight make them easy to pack around and find slots for on tight stages.
Quality
The speakers are well-built, and whether hauling them in the well-packed 8x10 trailer or throwing a couple of them in the pickup for a jam, they hold up. I've never had any problem with any other Behringer powered speakers, and I don't anticipate problems with these.
Value
Worth every penny. You won't find anything better anywhere close to the price.
Manufacturer Support
The 212's have had no problems. Had to send a mixer in once. Not having a local warranty vendor was somewhat of a hassle, but the Behringer mixer was back in two weeks and has never had any problems, since.
The Wow Factor
I rarely buy PA gear out of lust. Sound quality, roadablility and bang for the buck are the main considerations. These wouldn't look bad in my living room, though.

I'm going to buy a sub. Other than that these are gonna stay. I don't require anything else.
Sound
Just received a pair of these last night they sounded, well not what I expected at first. But after working with them and getting to understand how they work. Wow these are little giants. A good subwoofer would make this a super club or stage system.
Ease of Use
There is a learning curve but once you understand how to work with these speaker, your neighbors will love you or call the po-po because they are l-o-u-d!!
Quality
They feel really durable but if you are gonna use them as a monitor be aware of the xlr or 1/4 plugs because they will be on the floor
Value
For the money I can say that I am pleased.
Manufacturer Support
These babies are fresh out the box.
The Wow Factor
It looks better now that it is in my home than it does in the pictures.

"Great Product !"

Thinking about the sound quality, the price, size... I give a 10 for this product. I have been playing in many PAs, Stages, theaters, house concerts, bars... and the B212 are a very good speaker for the musician that needs to carry/set up his own PA for gigs. Portable, nice sound, well made, great price... Love it.
Sound
Nice sound. You pay 200$, and get good quality, nice lows ,natural highs , in a quiet system. you can find "better" speakers, like EVs (my favority), JBLs eons(I own 2 15"), Mackies, But for a Gig musician, looking for a compact set up, light, and affordable the behringers are truly a great buy. great for stage monitors...
Features
great system. low and high Eq. Line out.
Ease of Use
Easy, well... it's a powered speaker... has to be easy :)
Quality
very well made. Nice nobs, perfect size for a 12" speaker.
Value
I can't imagine any speaker , having the quality of the b212a been less expencive then that...
Manufacturer Support
I neve had to deal with behringer.

Great Product.

"super"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Great for my band.
Sound
Great. Some reviews I read complained about the lack of bass - well, this is exactly what I was shocked from the moment I started testing it - it's got tons of bass. The sound is very well shaped and clear and..... the biggest surprise - couldn't make it feedback at all, even with the mic right on the grill - strange, but brilliant for my band.
Features
It's got the things to make it run. The only thing I am concerned of are the knobs in the back - they are a little bit exposed, so you have to pay attention when you move them, not to break one. Also, there is no cooler, grill, whatsoever for the amp in the back - didn't test it yet for some full hours, so don't know if it overheats or so.
Ease of Use
Very versatile in form. Looks great as floor monitor. Has link output, so there are options for you.
Quality
Very well made, out of ABS plastic.
Value
You can buy 2 of these with the price of one of the big names on the market. By the way. They can be stacked one on top of the other, and they really look great this way.
Manufacturer Support
Didn't deal with Behringer yet. I own or use lots of their stuff, and so far no problems - unless the thing is broken from the begining.

"Behringer is the BEST!"

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
If I knew in the beginning what I have learned in purchasing these powered speakers; I would have saved a lot of hassle and money on amplifiers and non-powered speakers. I would have also saved myself a lot of back ache carrying those amps and speakers around. This is a must have for any DJ starting out or just wanting to experiment and see what amplified is all about. ZZounds lets you pay as you play, this is the way to start. I will buy the B215's next, no need for a sub. I hook one of these to a sub output on my Behringer mixer and it sounds awesome. Don't be suckered by the High priced speakers, these are just as good, if not better.
Sound
Pure and clean, crisp Lows, and Mids, and if you don't want to buy a sub, you don't need too, just put this on your sub output, crank the low all the way to the right and thump all night. My son hooked this to his IPOD direct and plugged into a 120 AC adaptor in his car, he cranked it about 3/4 of the way and the hum was phenomenal. His $1500 system does not sound near as good.
Features
Plug and play, 3 buttons on rear to adjust. Nothing much more is needed. Can be daisy chained to other amped speakers. Don't bother trying to hook up non-powered, does not work, I tried. Maybe Behringer will think to adapt speakers so they can amp a non powered too!
Ease of Use
Plug and Play! High Mid Low adjust, daisy chain is easy.
Quality
I have used them at over 25 gigs in the past 2 months without a hitch, Knock on Wood. Compliments from my customers abound. They are plastic, but not scratch resistant. I have banged the crap out of them and they still pound the sound. Great price, great quality!
Value
By far the one of the lowest priced best sounding amplified speaker on the market with a name that other DJ's and Sound Technicians trust to get the job done.
Manufacturer Support
Yes, I have dealt with Behringer asking for advice, I own Behringer Mixers, relays, Power Conditioners, Equalizers, and Now I own these speakers. I have worked with Behringer products for over a decade and I trust nothing else to make me the big bucks! Low price, great products, and dependable beyond belief.
The Wow Factor
Very Sleek and Sexy stylish speakers. Just look at them real close and compare to the other more expensive brands. My clients look at these and compliment me on the looks of my rig and my new Behringer B212A's!!

"Excellent value for an excellent product. Big sound, big power."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I plan on purchasing 2 more of the B212A's in the future which should be enough for my needs as 2 alone are quite powerful. I do not believe I will be replacing these with another model unless this model was discontinued. I will not be replacing with another brand. I chose this model based on the price value as well as the number of satisfied reviews I have read about them.
Sound
I used the B212a's last night for the first time. I was asked to DJ/KJ a party for 30+ people and was expecting to be in a hall no bigger than 30' x 50' In actuality it was a 75' x 100' hall. Honestly, I was a little intimidated thinking that I would not have the power needed to give a good performace. To my surprise I only needed half gain and you could still feel the kick of a drum at the furthest part of the hall. As far as sound quality I would have to say the B212A's are excellent. I am using a Behringer XENYX 1002FX to control mic's and effects and between the bass/treble on the B212A and the bass/mid/treble on the 1002FX there is enough tonal control to make the speakers sound how I want them.
Features
Built in Amp is perfect. Built in bass/treble controls. The addition of multiple speakers is pretty much endless too as it has both input and output jacks. Speakers are stackable as well.
Ease of Use
As expected these are trapezoid plastic enclosures so the midrange needs to be cut back a bit to get the "boxiness" sounds out. I have also heard that these speakers do not produce bass adequately but I beg to differ. They do just fine for their size. Of course you're not going to get the sound of a 18" sub but for small club DJ or bar room Karaoke performances these speakers are A+.
Quality
The only thing I have an issue with is that at 30% power and up the "all in one" features are noticed. The construction of the cabinet does not seem to be sealed and air escapes from around the seems between the front and back halves of the cabinets as well as around the amplifier and all of the connectors (especially the power switch). Although this creates some air sound behind the speakers it DOES NOT affect the performance on the front side of the speakers. Overall, the pro's out weigh the con's which is why I gave it such a high quality rating. I have not had a chance to really work with these speakers yet so I cannot comment on the longevity of them or the actual speaker dependability but from the performance they gave last night I would purchase more if needed. NOTE: As they are a trapezoid configuration KEEP the boxes if you don't have a road case as it makes transportation a lot easier.
Value
I've heard other very high priced items compared to the B212A's and I am extremely satisfied with the fact that it is less than half the price and 100% quality even though some reviews say that they do not compare to the pricy models.

"DEPENDABLE AND SEXY"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Years of satisfaction. I trust my Behringers to get the job done everytime. Will order Mackies next but that's only because the Behringers have made me so much money I can afford to splurge. Thinking 2 Mackie's and 2 more Behringers, B215A's next time.
Sound
Had this for 2 years now, no problems. I substitute on the Sub side on my Behringer mixer output and it works fine as a substitute sub with good bass.
Features
Easy to us, knobs are ok, but some sweat the small stuff. Not me, I think it's easier to use with knobs.
Ease of Use
Easy hook up to 2 different types of mixer. AV to XLR from mixer to speaker and also XLR to XLR, Phono to XLR is another option as is banana and speakon all to XLR, depends on your mixers output. Easy to setup and use when you have the proper cable, just whatever you have to XLR. Guitar phone straight to XLR also works well.
Quality
Scratches easy but very durable, dropped it a few times and just picked it up and plugged it in.
Value
More than worth it. The best of the cheap amplified speakers out there. Trust me, I have bought cheap ones before that crapped out after a few weeks. You can push these babies hard and I will testify that they still work after 2 years.
Manufacturer Support
Yes, I have dealt with Behringer for advice only in my beginning DJ years. No need for support function as I have never had a problem with the products.
The Wow Factor
Very sexy, compliments from my guest and customers. I like the way they look.

Behringer B212A Speaker Customer Review

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I would not recommend this for DJ monitor speaker but definitely for vocals and instrumental events.
Sound
Highs are totally crispy, I have nothing to complain about even when you turn it to 12-3 o'clock. Only the bass sounds like cardboard and i'm not happy about it using as a monitor speaker for dj'ing. This is a very good speaker for PA and vocal events. Add Subwoofer for clubbing to compensate the lack of bass.
Features
No accessory included. Only power cord, manuals and behringer stickers.
Ease of Use
It's very light and easy to transport.
Quality
Just owned it for a week, so I can't tell more about it.
Value
Considerable for its price
Manufacturer Support
First Behringer equipment and I hope this thing will last long.
The Wow Factor
The structure is very simple but with a decent looking speaker.

"Cheap and works well."

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I don't imagine it will last an incredibly long time before it fails, but its good for now.
Sound
These sound decent in the 120hz and up range. Fine for a monitor or vocal sound job. I use one as a DJ monitor and its great for this use.
Features
Its pretty basic XLR and 1/4" in, XLR out, IEC for power. I would've liked to have seen the knobs recessed which is why I gave this a 6, I would have also liked to have seen a more robust power cord and a heat sink for this.
Ease of Use
Anybody could hook these up, I'm absolutely positive of that. Unless of course they were dumb enough to try and run a passive speaker from this active speaker's output.
Quality
It's Behringer. It looks ok, but it scratches easily I had to exchange it 3 times because there were manufacturing defects in a few. Other than that its pretty decent for a $200 speaker.
Value
This is where it strides, its a decent value for small scale PA work and light monitor duty.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't had to deal with Behringer and hope not to, but at $200 for a speaker, I'd probably just strip it for parts and pick up another.
The Wow Factor
It's not a revolutionary product, but I needed quick monitor duty and didn't feel like giving up a FOH speaker or another amp channel.

I wondered should I just get the 15" model but I no longer like lugging stuff over 40 lbs. It hurts anymore. This thing is just amazing for my use.
Sound
I'm using one of these with my Fender Acoustasonic Ultra Light amp. I play sometimes bigger loud bars. Small combo blues and swing, no drums. The amp has great sound and is a self contained PA but it can run out of gas with the 8 inch speakers. I thought I'd try one of these in the line out with the amp. Wow! And I mean Wow! My total sound went through the roof. I do have to run the bass and treble EQ totally off as I'm EQing out of my amp. The 12 inch speaker added some big balls to my system. Jaw dropping. Read the other reviews they are right on.
Features
The knobs do stick out so have to be careful in that respect.
