This is my first ldc tube mic. It is thicker than a condenser but not fuzzy ( which I like ). Give this mic some warm up time before tracking and it will produce results. Omni seems to be most honest with vocals ( no bottom build up ). I haven't stacked vocals with it yet.

This Mic is so amazing I just love it so much the quality of the vocals and the even the case this Mic has very low noise compared to other mics I own this is one of the best mics I have I really have to say if I could give this Mic a 10 in sound in the star's I would I highly recommend this Mic

I've owned 2 factory Avantone's that I upgraded with new tubes and whatnot and were amazing. When I saw this BLA version I got all excited and bought immediately. Took a month for the issues to start showing up. I get intermittent level jumps. Other times it sounds one legged. Replaced the tube and cable. zZounds won't return it (shame because our studio just incorporated and we're flush. Hope they're reading this). Good luck getting any kind of service out of Avantone. These mics are so cheap they aren't even worth repairing. I had hoped the BLA mods would being it into a new class but it made it un-useable instead. Out of the 3 I've owned this BLA version has been an absolute tragedy. This is not a mic for a professional person. If you're on a budget get Warm Audio
