Audio-Technica ATH-AVC400 Closed-Back Headphones

Great if you need a few pairs of studio phones -- or for full, deep sound on a budget -- Audio Technica's ATH-AVC400s sound great and don't break the bank.

I ordered this as an open-box item from zZounds. Who routinely have been great. However, sadly when I got it it was clear that it was malfunctioning (no sound coming from one of the speakers). My mistake? I ordered around the time when we went on lockdown (early March), and so while the return was authorized, I could not get it to FedEx within 45 days. I contacted zZounds about it but it turns out that unlike retailers like Guitar Center, they chose not to use an extended returns policy, which given the circumstances would have been reasonable. I will still be ordering from zZounds but you should be aware of the limitations of their returns policy under such circumstances. In any case, as for the item itself. Obviously, it is difficult to assess the aural qualities of the item but I will not be purchasing another one just to see if it is any good. I went ahead and purchased AKG K92s elsewhere (there was a better deal) and called it a day.
