I own a Warm Audio WA47 Tube condenser mic which is amazing!! But this mic right here very impressive for only $399!! I actually did a side by side comparison with both of the mics and when I tell you that they are neck and neck I mean that literally!! This mic sounds like a $1,000 mic, well built, solid metal construction, gold plated capsule, broad range frequency rate, with a slight roll off on the lows to mids. Audio Technica gets major props not just for this mic but overall as their products are stellar and crafted with excellence all the while being budget friendly!!!! Can’t go wrong with Audio Technica!! I absolutely love this mic!!!
Sound
Rich, smooth, buttery tone with a balanced high end, I purchased this mic specifically for podcasting but now I plan on adding it to my arsenal to record my music with as well! I pair it with an Avalon 737 Vt along with a Teletronix LA-3A Leveler with subtle compression and limiting as well as EQ, but even before processing it sounds awesome!!!
Features
It has a 80hz roll off switch to mask unwanted background ambient noise as well as a -10db pad switch to record louder audio applications so that the signal doesn’t clip. Still would recommend using a noise gate for post production as that would completely eliminate even the most subtle background noises, but the 80hz roll off does a good job!!
Ease of Use
It’s quick, easy, plug and play into my Universal Audio Apollo Solo, just connect a solid and good quality XLR cable like (Mogami Gold) with 48v Phantom power and you’re ready to roll!!
Quality
This product is well made with high quality parts which in turn will last for years to come if properly taken care of.
Value
This microphone is beyond the value as it is comparable to my $1,000 microphone!!!!

The Wow Factor
The only way I can make good music without it is by using my other mic but this mic is awesome and a necessary addition to my mic locker!!
