"My guitar playing friends are blow away by what quality guitar this is, and at $199!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I expect to behappy with this guitar for many years. The only reason I would search for anothe Ovation, is if this gets destroyed in an accident, or I pass it on to my daughter. What I like most about this guitar asides from it's looks, and excelent construction. is how playable it is, and what a nice sound it has.
Sound
very good sound espicialy pluged in. Not as deep or rich as my other acustic,Made by Sunlte} but very nice soundin even straight accustic.
Features
every thing I wanted in a guitar, espicialy the kneck, I have small hands, and it is the most comfortable and playable guitar I have played. Materials, the finish is outstanding, mine is chery red, beautiful. I was able to ajust quite easely to my liking. the preamp is not the best, but very nice for a $199 guitar.
Quality
for $199, it is a 10 all around for qualiy, the finish isbreathtakingly beautiful, no loose parts, or blemishes. I honestly can say ther are nor worse quality to this guitar. Ithink this guitar will last for many many years.
Value
Very much worth the price, I have friends who are suprised by the value, they all play top line other models.
Manufacturer Support
No experence, I baught mine at a dealer who mathched the price.
The Wow Factor
beautiful to look at, feels great to hold and play.

"BLACK BEAUTY ACOUSTIC/ELECTRIC... A "MUST HAVE" ITEM!!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Remember, I bought a second one within a week...compared to a Fender Stratocoustic the Applause wins hands down!!!!!! If you want quality, value & appeal all in one, buy the Applause AE-28!!! I own 12 guitars, including Stratocasters, Les Paul, Washburn...etc....The Applause holds its' own AND HOW!!!!!!!!!!! BUY IT & FALL IN LOVE!!!!!
Sound
The sound from this BEAUTY will amaze you!! The harmonics coming from the bowl are incredible & it sounds impressive plugged in...A MUST HAVE ITEM guitarists!!! It is ULTRA SWEET!!!!!!!! BUY THE APPLAUSE!!
Features
You play this guitar WITH a strap, & the shallow bowl shape molds right into your body(kinda like a Strat!). You can turn the neck at an angle to get a great playing position either standing or sitting, so it isn't akward to play standing like alot of regular acoustics. The Applause is super "ergo"!!!! The neck is narrow & fast with a light electric-like action. If you're an electric player looking for the perfect affordable acoustic /electric, THE APPLAUSE IS A MUST BUY!!! GET IT NOW!! It has a simple, PASSIVE EQ which is just fine for a $199.00 guitar!! Again, you will be impressed when you plug in!! The Applause is a WORK OF ART too!!! It's SOOOOO beautiful...mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, shallow-cutaway, nice binding all-around....YES, IT'S SEXY looking & sounding...you will covet this axe!!! Oh yeah...it's light too & doesn't tire your shoulder or neck. BUY IT TODAY!!
Quality
This guitar is a 10 for quality. Made in China is VALUE here people!! This is an excellent instrument(a Chinese Ovation WORKS FOR ME YO!!)!! I bought this as a backup guitar & I play it more than any other!! It will last a lifetime with reasonable care...the finish is stunning...seriously, the Black Beauty is the one!!!! PLEEZE buy the Applause!
Value
VALUE in a guitar is DEFINED by the Applause....BUY IT NOW...I'M SERIOUS...You will love it!!!!!!!!!!
Manufacturer Support
I don't anticipate any issues with this baby!!! No need for support yet!
The Wow Factor
If guitars can be sexy (they can & are) this one fits the bill...at a jam this weekend my bandmate walked in when I was playing the Black Beauty...he grabbed it & I never got my hands back on it till he left...good thing "The Natural" was IN THE HOUSE!!! You will love the sheer genius of the bowl design!!!!!!!

Ovation Applause AE28 Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This guitar is enjoyable to play, natural and even has that unique sound that I discover.
Sound
A little bit thin, light but bright. Very nice for leading a small group of people in singing without a need of amp. If you need more warmth and depth, then you need an outboard fx. I used it for 4 years now, 3 years with steel strings and for the last year with nylon. Can be useful for tracking, easy to tweak with digital recording.
Quality
Excellent for 2nd guitar or for practice or even for tracking if you like to tweak sound.
Value
I like it, I think that what's matter.
Manufacturer Support
So far no problem.
The Wow Factor
I do own it, and plan to keep it.

For the price looks and everything else I would recomend this to someone who is new to guitar or need something to mess around without spending a fortune.
Sound
It has a brighter sound than most acoustics which isnt a bad thing because I was actually looking for something a little brighter.

Sound
the resonance and sustain in the structure is unbelievable. You can actually hear it hum, a sort of melodic ambiance to the background of your strumming or picking. Truly worth the bargain price.
