I bought a pair of these to replace another pair of mains that I use for my micro system setup. As no local stores had them in stock, this was tentative purchase. After receiving the speakers, on the initial sound test, I was blown away by the frequency range of this speaker, mainly the low end. As I always use subs, this was going to be a test based mainly oh how well this speaker mated with the sub, but I started with the speaker by itself first. After running some music through this speaker, I started thinking " I must have accidentally left the sub on" went to turn the sub off, and to my surprise, it WAS off! I actually had to check two or three more times to verify, because I couldn't believe what I was hearing. These things have a very strong low end output. So much so, that I would feel fairly comfortable running these without a sub for smaller (30 to 40 max) crowds in a non high energy setting. For comparison, I also have the Alto TS212 12 inch speakers, and side by side, I actually think that these put out (just slightly) more bass. It's so close, I'm going to have to set up my RTA to actually get real numbers. Also, these things are loud! At louder volumes, the bass output kinda runs out of steam, and is not really useable, but I ALWAYS use subs, with the top cabs crossed over, and that's when these things REALLY come alive. I am really impressed.... so much so, I WILL be buying another pair... (just what I need, more speakers)
Sound
Great sound.
Ease of Use
Easy to use. Lightweight, and compact.
Quality
Seems well made. The cabinet finish seems durable but scuffs really easily, but just rubbing with your hand or a rag will wipe the scuffs off.
Value
Very good price point.
Manufacturer Support
Had to give a star rating, but have not had to deal with the manufacturer.

Up in age and can no longer carry heavy gear. Bought an EV ELX200 12SP sub from zZounds to help lighten my load for Wedding gigs. Tried to pair them with differ.ent 10 inch tops but was throwing away money. Was going to get some QSC K10s but did not have the cash. Thought I would give the Alto 308 a shot. These speakers rock. Paired with the EV 12 sub makes these speakers boom. The volume coming out of these small 8 inch cabs was amazing. Without subs they have some surprising bottom end for their size. I have other more expensive EV EKX 12 tops but they are 45 lbs compared to 20 lbs for the Altos. For a Wedding of 75 to 125 guest and a sub these are all you need. They are not on the level of EV or QSC, but you will not find a better sounding or looking cab at this price point. Beginner DJs will love these these. They don’t look cheap and better yet, don’t sound cheap. Don’t know if they will last, but time will answer that question. They are worth every dime, and I definitely recommend them.

I have been trying for years to get a small monitor with enough power to be heard. We are a loud AC/DC tribute band. I have tried every 8-10 inch monitor out there that is reasonably priced and nothing cuts through. I bought one of these to give it a try and MAN it really worked well. Sound man used a X32 board I had the monitor on about 9 o'clock and it really came through. It was one of our louder clubs. I will be buying 3 more. Small, light weight and powerful. Only negative for me as with most speakers is in monitor mode the angle on the floor is not tilted up enough don't know why these manufacturers angle speakers so it hits you in the shins instead of the ears/face. Also if you try to tilt it more by wedging something under it the XLR cord gets in the way so I am going to use a 90 degree XLR that should fix it.
