Looking for a bass combo with the legendary Ampeg old-school tone? This new series is it. Although the previous SVT-flavored v2 line was decent, the amps were heavy and bulky to carry due to the wedge design. For 2021, this first series of Yamaha-owned Ampeg, I feel a difference in the quality and happily hear more of a B15 tone to my ears. It's simple to use with thoughtful features (though non-traditional upper and lower mids would've been nice). If you're looking for modeling capabilities, move on. The 112, for me, was an obvious choice being I was looking for more of a recording amp, but being it has the same wattage compared to the 115 (minus the ext cab), it was an easy decision. If you enjoyed the Rocket Bass series of two decades ago, yet wished for a lightweight version, your amp is here!

I got an Ampeg RB108 in August after reading many reviews. I bought an Ampeg RB112 in November after being so impressed with the performance of the RB108. I'm replacing a Fender Frontman 60B after about 20 years of service. Time to upgrade and move on. Having a ported cabinet and 100 watts it's quite loud, and the bass response is amazing. An extension speaker output jack would be a nice feature. The Fender 1 button (1/4") footswitch will work with the SGT footswitch input. Highly recommended!!
