The audio on mine is clean. I bought this as an easy way to do field recordings with multiple channels and it does that very well. It works as a mixer independently as well which is kind of cool. One bonus is that it worked with my iPhone 6 as well as my iPad 2. Sure, it didn't have any way to secure the phone, but it worked. (My old 1st gen alesis io dock didn't work with an iphone, just an ipad). My only complaint is the build quality it a little flimsy. It hasn't broken yet but I'll be transporting it in a hard case just to be safe. I don't think it will survive much abuse.
