It's too soon to write a detailed review. Furthermore, I'm not a sound engineer, I'm a musician. I judge equipment emotionally. Also, my room is not yet properly treated, and has a bunch of reverberation and other issues that need to be addressed. I am mostly writing this early because I noticed there are no reviews yet, and I just wanted to encourage people with similar sets of needs and requirements to pull the trigger on these amazing speakers. After first setting them up, I just randomly listened to a few of my favorite songs. Soon, I had tears in my eyes. The way the music stood in the room was astonishing. On most of these recordings, the singer seemed to be located on his or her own position, in the center of the spectrum. The feeling was as if there was a third speaker, dedicated to the singer. For pop music or jazz, I can't imagine ever needing a sub woofer. The speakers' bass response is so solid and clear. All the clicheed expressions apply: Clarity, Three-dimensionality, transparancy ... What these words are trying and failing to express, is the experience of music as a complex combination of multiple signals. Normally, you hear a mix, a wash, a combination of these elements. Here, they stand on their own and still form a whole. See, I wasn't kidding when I said I was no scientist. But when I started working on my own mixes, I felt like I was making decisions with more authority, less hesitation. It just was so refreshingly clear what needed to be done with each track. I still have a lot to learn, and I can only dream of the results once my room acoustics are tamed. Looking forward to installing the Sonarworks software and customizing my experience. So far, the three basic modes that can be called up on the back of the speakers are already providing a lot of "tailoring". I actually prefer listening on the "pure" mode, even if it's just for pleasure. Thanks to zZounds for their excellent payment options that make it easier to invest in big expenses like these. In closing, these speakers have brought me back closer with the teenager I was. Memories of discovering sound as something magical and rich, something that transports you.
