I've been playing in bands for years, I've always wanted a mesa boogie triple rectifier. Well, I've never had that kind of money. One day at a music store I stumbled on the valvetronix series. What a sound! Very Tubey! (on account of the tube inside). Big, warm, beefy, crisp, loud, life-like, growly distortion. IT WAS THE SOUND I'VE ALWAYS WANTED. Now, if you have 1,800 dollars to blow, get the triple rectifier. But, if you live in the real world like the rest of us, this amp will come as close to it as possible for hundreds of dollars less! I bought it a week later, and i am in love with it. Every time I play it I am blown away by it's pure tone! Great job on this one VOX, please buy this amp.

Sound
The Tone is the number one feature of this amp. The sound is why i bought it. I had a 120w Crate half stack with DSP and stuff, it sounded terrible, so digital, so thin, so weak. It was too bad. Well my friend had a really nice 4X12 I could borrow, so all I had to do was buy a good head to have a great amp! so I looked around alot in my price range, and this one sounded better than anything anywhere near the price! the first head I found that actaully sounded better (slightly) was a $1,800 head. Awesome! What a sound! Very Tubey! (on account of the tube inside). Big, warm, beefy, crisp, loud, life-like, growly distortion. IT WAS THE SOUND I'VE ALWAYS WANTED.

Features
11 amp models, 11 digital effects, 2 program channels. read more pretty great features, not enough program channels though, that's why it get s a 9. But the effects sound great, and the amp models are really remarkable, very tube-like!

Ease of Use
the setup on the top, and with the footswitch is just a tiny bit clumsy, that's why it gets an 8, but it doesn't matter, because it sounds like a mesa boogie, or soldano for more than a grand less.

Quality
Looks great, seems solid, sounds awesome, good warranty, no complaints there, and it's nice and small and light, with plenty of power, very loud!

Value
For the price nothing matches it's tone. Don't be fooled by the Line 6 amp head at the same price. Sure it has 400+ presets, but WHO CARES! if the presets sound like digital junk, then who would want them anyway?

Manufacturer Support
They have a good Customer support line, although i've only used it to ask some questions about the warranty, just out of curiosity.

The Wow Factor
It looks cool with the metal grate on the front. It's a VOX (so no laughing at you at a real gig when you wip out your crate or line 6). And it sounds so shimmery and beautiful and loud!!!
