Roland Cube 30 Modeling Guitar Combo Amplifier (30 Watts, 1x10 in.)

2-channel design. 3-band EQ.

This little powerhouse delivers a loud 30 watts through a single 10 in. speaker. You will be surprised by its sound quality, since it uses COSM modeling to simulate 8 classics: JC Clean, Acoustic, Black Panel, Brit Combo, Tweed, Classic Stack, Metal Stack, R-fier Stack. Like it's little bro, the CUBE 15 has a dedicated headphone jack for silent practice and excellent straight-to-tape tones. In addition, it offers a powerful onboard EFX section including different varieties of chorus, flanger, phaser and tremolo, an independent Delay/Reverb processor and dual channel operation -- all controllable with an optional footswitch or 2. Imagine your favorite modeling box with a headphone output and a guitar combo amp and you get the idea. A great, inexpensive practice amp that will be equally at home in the studio and stage, the Cube 30 is worth a careful listen.

This one is a keeper. Although I originally looked for a small amp as an in-between amp while I searched for a larger amp, I'll probably keep this around after I buy another amp. It's just too much fun!
Sound
When I first heard this amp I was amazed. I tried out 5 or 6 other small amps in the store. They had their good points but nothing really blew me away. When I plugged into this little monster...whoa! I was looking for an amp with a nice distortion and found it. The "metal" (Peavey 5150) setting is fantastic. I also wanted a good clean sound and found that in the JC120 and Blackface (Fender Twin) settings. Plus everything else is extra icing on the cake!
Features
For an amp in this price range, the features are excellent. A speaker line out would be a nice addition as well as a XLR recording out.
Quality
I don't think an amp can be built (or look) any tougher than this. I've used Roland and Boss gear for years. No problems.
Value
I've had more expensive amps that don't sound this good. Excellent!
Manufacturer Support
Never had to deal with them. But as many pros use Roland products I doubt there would be any problems.
The Wow Factor
As far as looks go, I don't think this is the most attractive amp. But if you buy an amp based on looks you've got other problems. It's the SOUND!
