Consarnit, if it ain't one thing, it's t'other! It's like, if I want a truly complete drum kit I gotta settle on "student" quality shells, or if I want pro-sounding drums, I gotta buy a shell kit and then add on the hardware and cymbals and such later. . . and that'll end up costing the arm and leg I was planning on using to play my new kit! Man, I really can get a kit that includes hardware, cymbals, and a throne without having to sacrifice great shell tone. The Pearl FZ725B set is based around the great-sounding Forum shells. These guys are made using the same Heat Compression technique as Pearl's higher-cost shells, and their 100% poplar construction features the signature seamless-gap scarf-joint for drums that are punchy, resonant, and loud! The shells are also outfitted with pro-grade, low-mass lugs and mounting brackets for increased resonance. . . and the black metal finish looks pretty sweet, too!

overall its a great buy for average to good drummers and produces great sound with new heads and new cymbals.

I added all new evans heads onto it and added dampening pads and it sounds great.

i mean good hardware but bad heads which should be expected. Extras were ok but cymbals were so garbarge i just threw them out.
