Sound
I wanted to add to my new Alesis DM8 kit, so I saw this factory reseal (get it if available...it's just like new) for sale at a pretty good price. It looked allot like my Alesis cym. pads, so thought I'd give it a go. When I opened the box it looked almost identical to my Alesis pads, and when I checked out the warrantee info I noticed The Ion had the same manufacturer's address as Alesis! The Alesis are dual zone, but if you just need a single zone for a crash or China, these are perfact. It is a 12" pad (I wish they had a larger one for sale, but size doesn't have anything to do with the sound.) It also comes with a cord, rack clamp, and a fair stand which you can always use.

Good price on the factory reseal. Not too bad without.

I did call the Alesis company (which is the same as Ion) with a question. They answered it with my satisfaction. I did wait a bit long for someone to answer which is why the 7 rating.
