I have owned the FR-12 and really enjoyed the way it sounded, so when I wanted to go back to using FRFR I thought I'd give the FR-10 a try and save a little weight and size. I use the FR10 with a Friedman IR-D and some pedals. It's a great set up and sounds really good. The hype about these speakers is legit. Probably the best sounding FR's I've used, and I've used a lot. Nothing is going to sound like an amp in the room except an amp in the room, but the FR10/12 are very close. Maybe it's just a perspective thing because they look like real amps instead of PA speakers. I plan on purchasing a second one to run stereo monitoring because ping pong delay makes me happy :)

Sound
These sound great. Most FR have a very 'hi-fidelity' quality that puts me off. Too much bass, high end etc. They sound like a home stereo speaker not a guitar amp. The Tone Master is as close as I've come to the real thing. Having the onboard EQ makes it super simple to tweak your tone without having to dive into your modeler or mess with IR etc.

Features
Best features are the onboard EQ with the high cut. It's easy to remove any boom or shrill right from the speaker cab instead of digging into menus etc. The passthrough output is also a great feature so I don't have to worry about trying to figure out how to get my board to my monitor and FOH at the same time, and the volume adjustment does not affect FOH signal. Oh, the tilt back legs are also read more really cool. I didn't think much about them until I needed to put it in front of me. Boom, instant wedge! The only downside to me is these are not the loudest FR cabs I've used. You really have to crank them to get above the fray. I would question the 1000W rating lol. It's not a big deal for me, I was planning on using 2 eventually for stereo, and if I need run them mono for more volume when I am not able to use FOH. Lastly, the look. The FR10 could easily be mistaken for a Blues Jr or HRD style amp. It looks like it belongs on the stage.

Ease of Use
It's very easy to use. Plug and play.

Quality
They haven't been out long enough to tell how reliable they are, but in my experience they've been reliable so far. Fender usually makes decent products so I'm not too worried about it.

Value
I've owned some very expensive high end FR, some expensive not so good FR, and some very inexpensive ones. The FR10 and 12 provided me a much more enjoyable experience by far, especially considering the price point. I think it's a great value as of Summer 2024. Sadly Fender is not shy about raising their prices and these have already had one increase so get them now while they are still reasonable!

Manufacturer Support
Early on there were a lot of reports and people freaking out about a hiss when they are powered on. I have had 2 FR12 and now this FR10 and I have not experienced the 'hiss' at all. Even if I did, it would not bother me. Show me an amp that doesn't make noise when it's turned on? They kind of do that....

The Wow Factor
I think this will appeal to anyone using modeling or an amp-less pedalboard solution. It looks like an amp, sounds pretty close to an amp, and is easy to carry around.

Musical Background:
I'm an old man but I still gig regularly. I'll do it until they have to wheel me offstage

Musical Style:
Rock, prog, blues, CCM, classic rock.
