Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys Fuzz Mini Pedal

Capture the magical tone of Gypsys-era Hendrix! This mini-sized pedal faithfully recreates the killer tone generated by Jimi's gnarly-sounding Fuzz Face.

The Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys Fuzz is based on a mysterious Fuzz Face Distortion that Jimi Hendrix used at several iconic shows between 1969 and 1970, most notably the Band of Gypsys performance. Red with white knobs, this particular fuzz sounded like a completely different animal from any of the other Fuzz Face pedals in his arsenal, snarling with an aggressive, biting tone. The pedal itself has been lost to history, but its unmistakably unique sound lives on in recordings. Our engineers narrowed the sound down to a version of the Octavio(R) circuit that didn't have that pedal's famous octave-up effect.

Now, you can get the same nasty fuzz tones in an MXR mini housing, including a Tone control for fine-tuning, featuring the trippy, kaleidoscopic designs of award-winning UK-based design cruee ILOVEDUST.

Woefully ineffective as a fuzz. It's not bad at all as and OD/Dist, but that's not why I ordered this, I have those, I wanted a FUZZ and this doesn't make the cut. The tone control is useless and simply acts more like a second volume knob but does nothing to actually change the TONE of this thing, The FUZZ is good up to about 9 o'clock (where it makes, as I said, a really good crunch), but after that it just chocks out the tone and sounds like mush. Very disappointed by this pedal and I would not recommend it.
