Solid sitka spruce top and solid rosewood back.

The AC25/SR PLUS is a solid sitka spruce top and solid rosewood back acoustic electric concert. It is a complete package with an attractive aesthetic of broad appeal. It is a bold acoustic electric concert ready to be plugged in and played out. Of the Breedlove Atlas Series Concert Guitars this is to be the finest in quality and workmanship, with tasteful aesthetic enhancements.

Each Atlas Series Instrument has been designed and engineered by Kim Breedlove. They have used many of the design principles from our custom shop including Breedlove scalloped bracing, pinless bridge and JLD Bridge Truss System.

The body shapes are similar to the custom shop offerings for deep body styles with non cutaways and soft cutaways. The bridge, fingerboard and peghead overlay on each model are made from Indian Rosewood. The playability has been changed to a slightly narrower nut width 1-11/16 in., but each has the same low string height for fast comfortable playing. D'Addario EXP11 light gauge coated strings are comfortable, last a long time and have a full sound. Fishman Classic IV Pickups are on all cutaway models.

These are easy to use, reliable and sound great. Each Atlas Series instrument has passed the strict quality assurance process in Bend, Oregon, USA.

Sound
I am impressed by the open lively and well balanced sound of this guitar. It sparkles on fingerpicking and compresses nicely when flatpicked hard. I play with an acoustic blues band,a bluegrass band, and solo gigs and it sounds great in each situation, with the exeption of bottleneck playing due to its low action. This can be remedied to a degree by adjusting the neck. Aside from that quibble, rosewood and spruce is always a winning combo, and tossing in a good sounding pick up system is a nice surprise at this price.
Features
Breedlove is kind enough to include a wrench to adjust the tension on the deep C shaped neck. It's more like a Taylor neck than a Martin one and might take some time to feel out. That's not a criticizm, it's just might be different from what some players are used to.
Quality
This is also a very pretty guitar. The abalone binding on the body is very tastefully done and the inlays on the neck are gorgeous and well done. All the appointments on this guitar are understated, dignified, and look professional.
Value
For the money, I don't think there's anything that's close to this instrument. The cosmetics, the electronics, the workmanship, and, of course, the tone. This a tone machine right out of the box, and I'm betting in 10 years, once it's really broken in, it will really shine.
