I couldn't get these things to sound good. I tried maybe 6 different sources/amps through them and the bass sounded anemic no matter what I did. Initially I thought it was a power issue causing the bass to suffer so much. I have headphones that are 30-60 ohm and figured the slightly higher ohms rating of the BH-770 might be a problem. So I stepped up to a more powerful amp with better matching and got the same result. What's it sound like? Like the bass is not even close to balanced or present for that matter. At first I checked the cable to make sure it was all the way in as it reminded me of that telephony sound with a boosted mid range and no bass underneath. The treble isn't so bad, if not detailed but everything sounds harsh and unpleasant without bass to balance things out. Very frustrating, I wanted these to be good but I suppose their low priced miracles are reserved for the synth world. Build is as nice or maybe a bit nicer than what you'd expect from a set this cheap. .It makes it worse knowing they're pretty comfortable and built well enough to at least withstand some kind usage. In terms of comfort they seemed good but you often need more time to know if they're going to put too much pressure in one spot. One last note about bass: I usually don't go for bass heavy equipment, taking the Beats by Dre sound profile as an example of an over-bass balanced profile. Noise cancelling sometimes adds a bass boost as well that I find too heavy. The point is my bar for bass is read more pretty low. I don't need a ton, just enough. The BH-770 headphones do NOT provide enough bass to call this overall sound anything close to good. I couldn't force myself to listen to these.Overall, my review translates to DON'T BUY. Save your money and the hassle of doing a return. I would love to know if someone got these puppies to put out the bass like I thought they would. Afterall they tout 'extended bass response.'
