A city with deep musical roots, Memphis, Tennessee is a fitting place for Gibson to build their timeless hollow and semi-hollow guitars and basses. Since Gibson Memphis opened their factory doors in 2000, they've been crafting some of the most historically accurate reissues ever, as well as incredible new instruments.

Since its initial release in the late 1950s, the Gibson ES-335 electric guitar has been beloved by blues, jazz and rock guitarists for its looks, sound, and feel. The 335's iconic semi-hollowbody design combines a solid maple wood center block with hollow "wings" and an arched top graced with violin-style f-holes over the hollow chambers. Add Gibson electronics and appointments, and you've got a classy-looking electric that combines the warmth and sustain of a hollow-bodied instrument, with the feedback control and playability of a solidbody. Check out our video tour of the Memphis facility to see the skill and care that Gibson's master luthiers put into building the ES-335 -- and many more iconic models.
