Optional TUB-1 USB board provides audio interfacing with computer.
Overview
The common music source for DJs was once vinyl, which shifted to CDs, and is now rapidly shifting to digital data files. Every time the source changes, the mixer must live up to its requirements, thus, connection with new hardware.
The PMC-05Pro Mk3 DX is a professional DJ mixer which comes with two independent line inputs and PGM direct outs for parallel connection to computers and USB audio devices. This enables the DJ to play with computer software in addition of standard vinyl mixing & scratching with a flick of the switch.
Each PGM channel is equipped with a direct out. Stable control with no noise interference is promised when scratching with a control signal record by sending signals to USB audio devices, which are level adjusted and RIAA equalized through the PMC-05Pro Mk3 DX's phono amplifier.
The DJ can mix the output sound from the computer individually, and switch between data control and standard vinyl/CD play easily with the direct out switch and independent line volume.
DX mode connection
The rear panel has the same input/output features as the PMC-05Pro3 VCA, available for turntables and CD players.
Set the software control vinyl / CD to the player.
Connect the output on the front panel to the audio interfaces LINE input and the audio interfaces output to the PGM 1 / 2 input on the front panel. Turn each PGM DX switch ON and connect the audio interface to the computer.
DJs can switch their gear easily at clubs to the next DJ without stopping the sound by… read more switching the PGM DX switch one by one.
Regarding connection settings between PMC-05ProIIIDX and computer software: The PGM input and PGM output located on the front panel of the PMC-05Pro III DX both input/output LINE signals when the mixer is connected and interlocked with turntables and JOG-controlled CD players to control computer software(scratching with digital media files).
Please make sure the software input setting is set to LINE when using the PMC-05ProIII DX in such setups. The software being set to PHONO can cause improper software operation.
Features
The main control section is exactly the same as the HIP HOP / SCRATCH standard PMC-05Pro 3 VCA, which has well defined operability and reliability that outclass others.
The USB option board TUB-1 can be installed to the front panel in order to input audio signals via USB. The sound signal inputted via USB is assigned to PGM 1 by turning the DX switch and Option In switch ON. (Devices connected to INPUT PGM 1 on the front panel will have priority over USB)
The CF monitor control & Master level fader have been moved closer to the top in order to free up more battle space around the cross fader for dynamic scratches and moves.
The monitor sound can be selected from MASTER and CUE with the MONITOR SELECT SWITCH. Useful for monitoring before going on stage and practicing scratches on you own. read less

"The work horse of Mixers"
I'm sure one day I'll upgrade to a RANE or Scratch Box, but this is a very comperable back up mixer.
Sound
This is a very good scracthc mixer, the sound is good. This is an good choice for the intermediate DJ or house DJ. The thing that is lacking is a 3 band eq (it only has 2). the faders are smooth and meets the basic needs of any scratch DJ. The up faders can be adjusted curve wise but you have to take them out of the mixer and switch the curve from the inside, this can be difficult and frustrating trying to find the curve you would like to use as you can't put the faders back in until you've found the seeting you like. Other than that is a good mixer. It's kind of like the SL 1200, nothing fancy it just works and is very dependable. It looks quite nice sitting between a set of Technics SL1200 decks.
Features
It's a very basic mixer. No bells and whistles here, but it will serve you well.
Ease of Use
Simply plug in and start mixing. very easy to use. The learning curve is very easy and you should have no issues using it right out of the box.
Quality
This is a very well built mixer. Brushed steel top and just looks nice. This is a very dependable mixer, no worries with it. Vestax makes quality equipment. Provided you care for this mixer it should last you years.
Value
For the price it's decent, however for similar pricing… read more you can go get the new Stanton mixer which is very impressive with built in effects.
Manufacturer Support
I have never had to contact Vestax. But if the support is anything like the product, I would rate it an 8.
The Wow Factor
It's not that "Sexy" looking really. But it is a good mixer.
